7.5 minute topographic quad base maps (1:24000 scale) for compilation of geologic site specific data and geologic map elements (eg., structure contours, contacts, structural symbols, mined-out areas, etc.). Includes both manuscript, maps for publication and misc. products.POC is Cliff Dodge.
Approx. 15,000 computer print outs of drill holes and coal analyses in a standard format from the Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal Company.POC is Bill Bragonier. Unit of measurement is boxes. The collection consists of approx. 15,000 drill hole records that have coal analyses tied to the drill hole record. Each drill hole has a header sheet that summerizes the hole location and information about each coal minable coal seam encountered in the drill hole. The drill holes are all in the same standard format and are computer print-outs.
scans of 35mm slides of diamond drill hole core from western Pa.POC is Bill Bragonier and Sandip PatelCore from diamond drill holes drilled between 1974 and 1998 by the Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal Co. were photographed and catalogued on 35mm slides. The majority of these drill holes were Pennsylvanian age rocks in western Pa. There were over 87,000 slides. The collection is a scan of all of these slides.
Paper case files of landslide occurances. May include field notes, maps. Information varies from brief newspaper reports to detailed field reports with boreholes and well monitoring information. data gathered to support landslide inventory studies. Most have location and date infornation.POC is Helen Delano. Other is file drawers.New similar data is being compiled electronically but not in a formal database. We anticipate using this as the basis for a GIS linked database of landslides in PA.
Geohazard assessments for PennDot road contruction projectsPOC is Stuart Reese.GIS files and maps.
This collection contains all publications published by the Pennsylvania Geologic Survey, 1836-present, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th PA SurveysRichard C. Keen
Field notebooks pertain to past approved geologic mapping projects (1:24000 scale).POC is Cliff Dodge.
Field notes for the anthracite and Texas Eastern pipeline in Greene and Fayette Counties.POC is Leonard LentzCurrently these are raw notes collected in the field, however at some future date we would like to create strip logs. There are rock samples associated with this data.
This is a MS Access listing of over 2200 bituminous mine mapsThis is an Access list of Bituminous mine mapsThis Access database resides on John Neubaum's computer and is likely on some other's computers as well. It is also backed up.
Mixture of paper, mylars used to create geologic and mineral resource maps and other thematic maps. Also includes minor amount of cross sections and related geologic illustrations.POC is Tina MilesCollection includes maps valuable for imaging.
scanned well schedules from Susquehanna River Basin Commission groundwater study from 1980s.Owner of the collection is Tom McElroyScanned well schedules and only source for the drillers logs for these wells.
Series of coal underground and surface mine maps coal land-property maps, and drill hole location maps.POC is Cliff Dodge.Contains maps of many scales, covering a span of more than 100 years (many are sole source and of historical significance).
Unpublished geological manuscripts by various authors from 1919-1988POC is Gary Fleeger
This collection consists of a digital database of waterwell driller completion data and scans of water well completion forms submitted mostly by the well drillers of wells drilled in PA, but also other government agencies. POC is Gary Fleeger. The collection is dependent on the diligence of the drillers submitting reports and the drillers reports with errors creates inability to access data online. Pennsylvania groundwater information system (PaGWIS).
Scaled logs of drill holes printed on paper from coal bearing rocks of western Pa.POC is Bill Bragonier. unit of measurement is paper strip log of drill records.Scaled strip logs of drill holes from western Pa. Estimated between 5,000-10,000 drill holes. Some are filed by county, some by quadrangle and some are not filed. Most consist of folded paper approx. 4-5 inches wide.
This is a collection of Bituminous mine maps stored at the PaGS. Some of the maps are very old. This is the physical collection of maps listed in the previous Access database
