The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Harris‐Galveston Subsidence District, City of Houston, Fort Bend Subsidence District, Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District, and Brazoria County Groundwater Conservation District produced this dataset of groundwater‐level altitudes and groundwater‐level altitude changes in the Chicot and Evangeline aquifers (undifferentiated) and Jasper aquifers in the greater Houston area, Texas. This dataset shows current‐year (2021) groundwater‐level altitudes for each aquifer, 1–year (2020–21), 5‐year (2016–21) groundwater‐level changes for each aquifer, long‐term (1990–2021 and 1977–2021) groundwater‐level changes for the Chicot and Evangeline aquifers (undifferentiated)...

Floodplain inundation is believed to be the dominant physical driver of an array of ecosystem patterns and processes in the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS). Here, we present the results of a geospatial surface-water connectivity model in support of ecological investigations fully described in the USGS Open File Report entitled “Indicators of Ecosystem Structure and Function for the Upper Mississippi River System” (De Jager et al., in review). Briefly, we identified likely instances of floodplain submergence by comparing a daily time series of gage-derived water surface elevations to topo-bathymetric data modified to account for slopes and hydrologic routing. The resulting raster attribute table contains columns...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board, has compiled a series of geospatial datasets for Puerto Rico to be implemented into the USGS StreamStats application (https://streamstats.usgs.gov/ss/). These geospatial datasets, along with basin characteristics datasets for Puerto Rico published as a separate USGS data release (https://doi.org/10.5066/P9HK9SSQ), were used to delineate watersheds and develop the peak-flow and low-flow regression equations used by StreamStats. The geospatial dataset described herein are the sink link rasters at a 10-m resolution. The Pre-HydroDEM tool creates the sink link raster and assigns a unique numeric value to areas with deranged...

The supplemental data presented here contains three raster datasets representing the evapotranspiration (ET) units for northern, southern, and western regions of Harney Basin (raster datasets in .tif format) and one vector dataset of ET-unit observations used to delineate ET units (vector dataset in .shp format). Eleven ET units were identified from ET-unit observations of land cover and include bare soil or playa (1), marsh (2), dry meadow (3), wet meadow (4), open water (5), riparian (6), mixed shrubland (7), phreatophyte shrubland (8), xerophyte shrubland (9), sagebrush shrubland (10), and xerophyte grassland (11). Irrigated areas are excluded from ET units. Unpublished land-cover datasets collected by the U.S....

The depths to a high and average water table below the land surface were estimated across the Clover Creek watershed in Pierce County, Washington. Groundwater model simulations provided initial estimates of water-table depths for the analysis. To provide optimized, data-driven estimates of these depths, a continuous bias correction surface was applied to model output according to differences between simulated and observed water levels at observation wells.

This child item dataset contains a water temperature raster interpolated from water quality observation points collected during the 2018 survey of the Old Erie Canal. This data release contains spatial datasets of bathymetry, water velocity, water quality, and infrastructure of a 30.8 mile reach of the Old Erie Canal between the Town of DeWitt and its junction with the current Erie Canal of the New York State Canal System in Verona, near Rome, New York during 2018 and 2019.

A collection of analysis-ready datasets for the U.S. Geological Survey - Idaho National Laboratory (USGS-INL) groundwater and surface-water monitoring networks, administered by the USGS-INL Project Office in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy. The data collected from wells and surface-water stations at the Idaho National Laboratory and surrounding areas have been used to describe the effects of waste disposal on water contained in the eastern Snake River Plain aquifer, located in the southeastern part of Idaho, and the availability of water for long-term consumptive and industrial use. The datasets include long-term monitoring records dating back to measurements from 1922. Geospatial data describing...
Terrain models representing river channel and terrestrial surface elevations were developed for use in 2D hydraulic modeling with HEC-RAS software. Channel bed elevations were determined from cross-sectional field surveys (Seneca Creek and Patapsco River) or manual corrections of the LIDAR data (Patuxent River and Little Gunpowder Falls) and integrated with the terrestrial LIDAR data.
