To support the modeling of storm-induced flooding, the USGS Coastal National Elevation Database (CoNED) Applications Project has created an integrated 1-meter topobathymetric digital elevation model (TBDEM) for Puget Sound. Puget Sound is located along the northwestern coast of Washington and is part of the Salish Sea. Puget Sound is the third largest estuary in the United States. High-resolution coastal elevation data is required to identify flood, storm, and sea-level rise inundation hazard zones and other earth science applications, such as the development of sediment transport and storm surge models. The new TBDEM consists of the best available multi-source topographic and bathymetric elevation data for Puget...

Three water-quality models were generated to estimate total phosphorus (TP) concentrations and loads from 2002 – 2021 in the Boise River near Parma, Idaho. A Weighted Regression on Time Discharge and Season (WRTDS) model and a Weighted Regression on Time Discharge and Season with Kalman filtering (WRTDS-K) model were generated using all observations within the study period to quantify rate of change in TP concentrations and loads. Further, these two models in addition to the Load ESTimator (LOADEST) model were generated using a subset of the observation data and evaluated on the observations withheld from model generation. The results of the models generated with all data are provided in one file ("full_mod_results.csv"),...

During October-November 2017 twelve time domain electromagnetic (TDEM) surveys were collected in Nassau and Queens County. The data were collected to estimate the extent of saltwater intrusion in support of the Long Island Groundwater Sustainability Project in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. In the TDEM method, an electrical current is run through a wire in a transmitter loop, which in turn produces a magnetic field. The strength of the magnetic field is proportional to the strength of the electrical current. The current is rapidly shut off and due to Faraday’s Law, a secondary current is induced. The strength of the secondary current is proportional to the rate of...
