A revision to the hydrogeologic framework of the Virginia coastal plain southwest of the James River was developed by USGS during 2019-2021. From 2008 to 2012, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, developed an acoustic backscatter surrogate (model 1.0) for estimating real-time suspended-sediment concentration and loads at Clearwater River at Spalding, ID (USGS ID: 13342500) using a horizontally-mounted 3000kHz acoustic Doppler velocity meter (ADVM). This study is a continuation of the 2008 to 2012 acoustic backscatter surrogate study using samples collected since 2015 to validate the continued use of model 1.0. Sample data collected in 2015 to 2018 show a deviation from model 1.0 when backscatter data from the ADVM, after correction for acoustic losses, is greater than 65.7 decibels....
A three-dimensional hydrogeologic framework model (3D HFM) of the westernmost western Snake River Plain (WSRP) aquifer system was prepared to represent the subsurface distribution and thickness of four hydrogeologic units. The primary source of data for the 3D HFM was lithologic data from a total of 291 well-driller reports. These data were then processed using Rockware Rockworks17 three-dimensional modeling software. This dataset consists of five comma-delineated CSV files containing well information: location, lithology, well construction, aquifer, and comments. It is one of three related datasets.

A three-dimensional groundwater flow model, MODFLOW-OWHM, was developed to provide a better understanding of the hydrogeology of the Lucerne Valley Groundwater Basin, California. The model was used to investigate the historical groundwater storage loss and subsidence associated with anthropogenic groundwater demands. The model was calibrated to 1942 through 2016 conditions. This was created using point data and information provided by Dean Hendrickson and Thomas Minckley, combined with potential locations derived from analysis of classified raster land cover images and other specialized datasets. A series of simple linear regression models were developed for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgage at Rice Creek below Highway 8 in Mounds View, Minnesota (USGS station number 05288580). The simple linear regression models were calibrated using streamflow data to estimate suspended-sediment (total, fines, and sands) and bedload. This child item contains ground penetrating radar (GPR) data collected over a small alpine wetland between Mogul Mine and Cement Creek located near Silverton, Colorado. Mine-impacted water is transported to Cement Creek via surface channels and groundwater through this wetland. The GPR method transmits radar pulses into the ground and measures the returned amplitude from these pulses over time. This child item contains frequency domain electromagnetic induction (FDEM) data collected along and around Cement Creek and California Gulch near Silverton, Colorado in support of other data collected at the site. The FDEM tool generates an EM field and measures eddy currents generated by conductive and/or magnetic materials in the subsurface in response to the applied field.
