Ar/Ar data are reported from minerals and rocks that were collected as part of a mineral resource investigation of the Tonopah, Divide, and Goldfield districts in Nevada. Data are reported from 92 samples and associated standards from eight separate neutron irradiations in the Denver USGS TRIGA reactor, including separated mineral grains and whole rocks. Data were collected by infrared laser heating of irradiated samples, either incremental heating or fusion, and analysis by multi-collector mass spectrometry. The reported data have been corrected for blanks, radioactive decay, and interfering nucleogenic reactions associated with sample irradiation.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) completed an inventory of the holdings of the DNR Drill Core Library (DCL). The Drill Core Library facility contains geologic materials including drill core, rotasonic samples, cuttings, pulps and rejects, processed materials, peat, thin sections, thin section billets and hand samples. The inventory project also included identifying space and preservation issues, beginning the process of centralizing and standardizing the administrative databases for all holdings, and making more information within the DCL publicly available.

Alaskan Offshore Mining Leases and Prospecting Permits for locatable or potential locatable minerals on state-owned tide and submerged lands are offered for issuance if the DNR conducts a Disposal of Interest for a specific offshore area. If known locatable mineral deposits exist, the DNR conducts a competitive offshore lease disposal, otherwise a noncompetitive offshore prospecting permit disposal is held.
