This dataset consists of 102 magnetotelluric (MT) stations collected in 2012-2014 in the Rio Grande Rift and southern Rocky Mountains. The U.S. Geological Survey acquired these data to improve regional conductivity models of the western United States. This work is in support of studies of the effect of lithospheric modification on electrical resistivity structure and tectonic evolution of the western United States.

Raster dataset showing saturated thickness (in feet) of the alluvium in the Lower Arkansas River Valley, Southeast Colorado, June 1 - November 30, 2008 (hereafter defined as "fall"). Saturated thickness values based on water levels measured in the study area and median lake level at John Martin Reservoir during this time period. Surface interpolations for water-table altitude were done using Inverse Distance Weighting using coordinate and altitude data from "Wells and water-level altitude in the alluvium in the Lower Arkansas River Valley, Southeast Colorado, Spring and Fall 2002, 2008, and 2015" (see cross reference section in metadata), and surface interpolation of bedrock was done using Topo to Raster using elevation...

This part of the data release contains historical streamflow data compiled from the literature and evaporation loss estimates used in the streamflow gain loss equation. These digital data accompany Houston, N.A., Thomas, J.V., Ging, P.B., Teeple, A.P., Pedraza, D.E., and Wallace, D.S., 2019, Pecos River Basin Salinity Assessment, Santa Rosa Lake, New Mexico to the Confluence of the Pecos River and the Rio Grande, Texas,2015: U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2019-5071, https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20195071.

Classified probability of suitable habitat for Black Tailed Prairie Dogs for each cell of raster. Classification is based on 4 probability cutoff levels with category 1 being low habitat suitability and category 4 being high habitat suitability. Categorized probability data is created from fitting a global second-order model to county level raster data. For details on model fitting and data used to produce categorized probability raster see report. https://www.fws.gov/science/catalog

This raster dataset shows the thickness of the alluvium in the Lower Arkansas River Valley, Southeast Colorado. The bottom boundary defined by bedrock (Hurr and Moore, 1972; Nelson and others, 1989a, b, c) and top boundary defined by land surface from U.S. Geological Survey National Elevation Dataset (2016). All interpolation and geoprocessing was completed in ArcGIS Desktop v10 (Environmental Systems Research Institute, 2011).

This Data Release contains various types of hydrologic and geologic data from the Pecos River Basin during1900–2015, including water-quality data compiled and synthesized from various sources (including data from water-quality samples collected by the USGS in 2015 from 26 sites), streamflow gain-loss data collected by the USGS in 2015 and historical streamflow gain-loss data compiled from the literature, the horizontal extent of and depth to the base of the 16 geologic and hydrogeologic units that underlie the study area, and geospatial data collected by the USGS. The data were used to complete a detailed salinity assessment of the Pecos River from Santa Rosa Lake, New Mexico to the Confluence of the Pecos River...

The 'Oro Grande' file is part of the Grover Heinrichs mining collection. Grover was the Vice President of Heinrichs GEOEXploration, located in Tucson, Arizona. The collection contains over 1,400 folders including economic geology reports, maps, photos, correspondence, drill logs and other related materials. The focus of much of the information is on the western United States, particularly Arizona, but the collection also includes files on mining activity throughout the United States, foreign countries, and 82 mineral commodities.
