Maximum considered earthquake geometric mean peak ground acceleration maps (MCEG) are for assessment of the potential for liquefaction and soil strength loss, as well as for determination of lateral earth pressures in the design of basement and retaining walls. The maps are derived from the USGS seismic hazard maps in accordance with the site-specific ground-motion procedures of the NEHRP Recommended Seismic Provisions for New Building and Other Structures and the ASCE Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures (also known as the ASCE 7 Standard; ASCE, 2016). The MCEG ground motions are taken as the lesser of probabilistic and deterministic values, as explained in the Provisions. The gridded probabilistic...

A comparison of the 2017 USGS South America seismic hazard model and the Global Seismic Hazard Assessment Program (GSHAP) model was made to see how the models differ. The comparison was made as the ratio of PGA at 10% probability of exceedance in 50 years. The ratio map is included here as a geo-referenced tiff (GeoTIFF). The gridded data for the 2017 PGA at 10% probability can be found here, while the GSHAP data can be found here. A seismic hazard model for South America, based on a smoothed (gridded) seismicity model, a subduction model, a crustal fault model, and a ground motion model, has been produced by the U.S. Geological Survey. These models are combined to account for ground shaking from earthquakes on known faults as well as earthquakes on un-modeled faults. This data set represents the hazard curves for a grid of points with a spacing of 0.1 degrees in latitude and longitude. It represents the annual rate of exceedance versus 0.2-second spectral response acceleration.
This data set contains imagery from the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP). The NAIP program is administered by USDA FSA and has been established to support two main FSA strategic goals centered on agricultural production. These are, increase stewardship of America's natural resources while enhancing the environment, and to ensure commodities are procured and distributed effectively and efficiently to increase food security. The NAIP program supports these goals by acquiring and providing ortho imagery that has been collected during the agricultural growing season in the U.S. The NAIP ortho imagery is tailored to meet FSA requirements and is a fundamental tool used to support FSA farm and conservation programs....

We estimate the Marginal Cost of Public Funds (MCPF) for Peru using a detailed computable general equilibrium (CGE) model. Revenues from all major sources (including taxes on factors of production, natural resources such as energy and minerals, consumption, and imports) are examined. Our focus is on the efficiency implications of mineral and energy taxes, given their importance to Peruvian public finance. The primary data are from the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) as modified to include detailed tax information from the Peruvian Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Peruvian Internal Revenue Service. Consistent with the theories of public finance, we find that the MCPF is greater for activities that face...

(2012), and include soil amplification...

This inventory was originally created by Lacroix and others (2013) describing the landslides triggered by the M8 Pisco, Peru earthquake that occurred on 2007-08-15 at 23:40:58 UTC. Care should be taken when comparing with other inventories because different authors use different mapping techniques. This inventory also could be associated with other earthquakes such as aftershocks or triggered events. Please check the author methods summary and the original data source for more information on these details and to confirm the viability of this inventory for your specific use. With the exception of the data from USGS sources, the inventory data and associated metadata were not acquired by the U.S. Geological Survey...

Peru Earthquake May 31, 1970. Block of granodiorite (estimated to weigh 700 tons) that was transported by the Huascaran debris avalanche to near the site of the former town of Ranrahirca. A layer of mud showing polygonal cracks resulted from seepage from the avalanche after it came to rest. The top of the block is covered with mud and rock fragments deposited by the avalanche after the block came to rest. 1970. Figure 6, U.S. Geological Survey Circular 639.

Peru Earthquake May 31, 1970. Block of granodiorite estimated to weigh about 7,000 metric tons that was transported by the Huascaran debris avalanche and deposited near the Rio Santa west of Ranrahirca. The top of the block is covered with boulders that were deposited from the debris flow after the block came to rest. This block was left exposed after the enclosing mud flowed and/or was washed away after the avalanche. The pole at the base of the block is 4 meters high. June-July 1970.
