U.S. and Canada Lakes represents the major lakes within the United States and Canada. This data set provides five feature classes for displaying the data at different scales. Everything about the feature classes is the same but the level of generalization and its name. The base feature class is called and isn't generalized. The least generalized feature class is called _1, the next more generalized feature class is called _2, and so on. For best performance, use the most appropriate feature class when displaying or printing.

The TIGER/Line Shapefiles are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the Census MAF/TIGER database. The Census MAF/TIGER database represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts. However, each TIGER/Line Shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set or the shapefiles can be combined to cover the whole nation.

U.S. Counties (Generalized) represents the counties of the United States in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. These data were reprojected to USA_Contiguous_Albers_Equal_Area_Conic_USGS_version and clipped to the MAR REA boundary.

A polygon dataset of current and future community footprints in the SNK REA derived from the Tiger/Line File with modification (see the process steps for details). (The TIGER/Line Files are shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) that are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line File is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The TIGER/Line Files include both incorporated places...

This dataset represents the planned energy projects that were submitted to the Alaska Energy Authority Renewable Energy Fund Grant Recommendation Program. The dataset contains only projects that are in the "Planned" phase, which can be anywhere from the conceptual design and feasibility phase to nearly completed but not yet functional.

First, we would like to thank the wildland fire advisory group. Their wisdom and guidance helped us build the dataset as it currently exists. Currently, there are multiple, freely available fire datasets that identify wildfire and prescribed fire burned areas across the United States. However, these datasets are all limited in some way. Their time periods could cover only a couple of decades or they may have stopped collecting data many years ago. Their spatial footprints may be limited to a specific geographic area or agency. Their attribute data may be limited to nothing more than a polygon and a year. None of the existing datasets provides a comprehensive picture of fires that have burned throughout the last...

The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line File is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The TIGER/Line Files include both incorporated places (legal entities) and census designated places or CDPs (statistical entities). An incorporated place is established to provide governmental functions for a concentration...

A point dataset containing Census population data. This point locations in this dataset are the centroid of the polygon dataset of current community footprints in the SNK REA derived from the Tiger/Line File (see the process steps for details). The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the National Marine Sanctuary Program of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), has conducted seabed mapping and related research in the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary (SBNMS) region since 1993. The interpretive datasets and source information presented here are for quadrangle 5, which is one of 18 similarly sized segments of the 3,700 square kilometer (km2) SBNMS region. The seabed of the SBNMS region is a glaciated terrain that is topographically and texturally diverse. Quadrangle 5 includes the shallow, rippled, coarse-grained sandy crest and upper eastern and western flanks of southern Stellwagen Bank, its fine-grained sandy...

This point file was derived from the community footprints for the Central Yukon REA. The points were manually edited and moved from their default position to a location that corresponded with the actual community location based on satellite imagery. The footprint feature class was produced by digitally tracing the built areas from satellite imagery. This was done to represent the actual footprints more accurately than would have been possible from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (TIGER) files. TIGER files are geospatial files with information on several political and administrative units. These shapefiles include polygon boundaries of geographic areas and features,...

This dataset represents the planned energy projects that were submitted to the Alaska Energy Authority Renewable Energy Fund Grant Recommendation Program. The dataset contains only projects that are in the "Planned" phase, which can be anywhere from the conceptual design and feasibility phase to nearly completed but not yet functional, and also received funding from the AEA.

This dataset was used in the Northern Great Basin Rapid Ecoregional Assessment by BLM. No changes were made to the data but the dataset selected California and clipped to the ecoregion boundary.

Tribal communities are especially vulnerable to the effects of climate change because of their reliance on the natural environment to sustain traditional activities and their limited resources to respond to climate change impacts. At the same time, tribes have valuable traditional knowledge that can aid regional efforts to address climate change. There were two overarching goals of this project: The first was to build partnerships between South Central Climate Science Center (SC CSC) researchers and tribal communities, linking tribes with climate change tools and resources and developing a model that could be replicated in other regions. The second goal was to document tribal viewpoints on climate change impacts...
