This dataset is part of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Great Lakes Coastal Wetland Restoration Assessment (GLCWRA) initiative. These data represent the flowline network in the Green Bay Restoration Assessment (GBRA). It is attributed with the number of disconnections (e.g., road crossings) between the reach and Lake Ontario. The more road crossings on a flowline the more disconnected that area is from the lake and the less suitable it will be for restoration. These data help identify the condition of hydrologic separation between potential restoration areas and Lake Ontario. Low numbers represent fewer disconnections, such as culverts, between the reach and the water body requiring no flow network modification...

Data includes functional group cover of exotic annual grasses and deep rooted perennial grasses within the first five years after the 2015 Soda wildfire across different post-fire restoration treatments. Additional landscape and restoration treatment covariates hypothesized to influence post-fire invasive annual grass and perennial grass cover are included.

This dataset is part of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Great Lakes Coastal Wetland Restoration Assessment (GLCWRA) initiative. These data represent the flowline network in the Upper Peninsula Restoration Assessment (UPRA). Introduction As a result of storage and disposal practices at a former Manufactured Gas Plant, or MGP, in Bay Shore, NY, a variety of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have been detected at high concentrations in the surficial, upper glacial aquifer of Long Island. Levels of PAHs initially detected over 10 years ago were in the parts-per-thousand range within a groundwater contaminant plume. The plume extended over a half-mile from MGP-related sources to discharge at a local estuarine tributary, Lawrence Creek, resulting, resulting in malodorous hydrocarbon sheens in this tributary and nearby storm drains. These signs of contamination revealed a larger underlying problem and prompted calls by state and local...

Polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) concentrations were measured in the lower Ottawa River in 2009 before dredging and after dredging in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2015. Media collected for analysis included sediment, water, macroinvertebrates, and tetragnathid spiders at 18 stations. At each station 16 surface sediment core samples (top 15 cm) were collected and composited together with a mechanical mixer to achieve a homogeneous composite sample. Mid-depth water column samples were collected using a Van Dorn, Niskin or similar type sampler. Artificial substrate samplers (Hester Dendys) were used to collect aquatic macroinvertebrates. Riparian spiders (family Tetragnathidae) were collected from their webs by gloved hand...

We conducted two literature searches to help guide the development of a conceptual model of a barrier island and shoreline system in response to cumulative effects of restoration projects. The first search targeted examples of cumulative effects assessments and/or existing conceptual models from which a system-specific conceptual model can be built. The second search targeted the identification of barrier island and shoreline environmental system components, drivers and stressors. There are two data sheets in this dataset; one set of records from each literature search. Each spreadsheet includes record information pulled directly from the Web of Science searches, such as title, authors, abstract, and publication...
