This map layer portrays the current routes used for conducting Breeding Bird Surveys in the lower 48 States, clipped to the HUC5/ecoregion boundary for the Sonoran Desert ecoregion. The digital data sets are used to create electronic and hard copy maps of the Breeding Bird Survey routes. The data can be used to conduct geographic analysis on national and large regional scales. The data should be displayed and analyzed at scales appropriate for 1:100,000-scale data. No responsibility is assumed by the National Atlas of the United States or by USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center in the use of these data.

This dataset depicts recreation sites compiled for BLM and USFS lands. Due to a general lack of quality recreation site information, this dataset likely under-represents the distribution and density of recreation sites, and only contains recreation sites on public lands. Additional recreation sites likely occur on state, local, and privately-owned land, but no data were available at the time of this REA. Recreation sites may have varying areas of impact, as some recreation sites may be large campgrounds whereas other sites are highly localized, such as trailheads. GIS dataset of the developed recreation sites (polygons) identified in the Lake Havasu Field Office RMP 2007. This dataset is limited to the Colorado River area where most of the recreation sites are located. The dataset includes BLM campgrounds and day use areas, along with concession leases. Additional recreation sites are in the RecreationSites_point.shp dataset. These recreation areas are on BLM lands in Arizona and California within the Lake Havasu Field Office.

This dataset presents the current potential distribution of this species within the context of current terrestrial intactness and long-term potential for energy development (1KM reporting units). Current terrestrial intactness is based on current measures of landscape development, fire regime and vegetation impacts, and fragmentation. Climate data (Average Annual Temperature for 1968-1999) were created by PRISM (Parameter-elevation Regressions on Indepenent Slopes Model - prism.oregonstate.edu) on a 2.5 arc-minute lat-lon grid. They are based on historical observations from 1968-1999. We created mean monthly climatologies for that period from the PRISM data, and reprojected the results to the BLM Albers 4km grid. We used these results as a historical baseline climate to de-bias RegCM3 projections. We also compiled annual and seasonal summaries of precipitation and temperature from the PRISM data to allow for simple comparisons with other climatologies. Units are degrees celsius.

This dataset depicts the near term (2015-2030) predicted distribution of major invasive vegetation species in the Sonoran Desert Ecoregion. It shows the combination of all areas predicted to have current distribution of invasive vegetation species, in addition to areas predicted in the near term Sahara mustard probability model, based on near term climate (2015-2030, derived from RegCM3 based on ECHAM5 boundary conditions). This dataset does not show range contractions of invasive vegetation species, only range expansions, due to the way that source datasets were combined.
