Investigations of coastal change and coastal resources often require continuous elevation profiles from the seafloor to coastal terrestrial landscapes. Differences in elevation data collection in the terrestrial and marine environments result in separate elevation products that may not share a vertical datum. Bivalvia Subset of Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS) - USA Dataset Collection for NFHP Thematic Viewer 20141202

Species occurrence records of the taxonomic class of Bivalvia in oceans within 1000 kilometers of the United States shoreline. This is a subset of the OBIS-USA dataset where Bivalvia records were queried on December 2, 2014. After initial queries, the remaining data were further queried to retain only samples within 1000 kilometers of the U.S. shoreline. Spatial queries were then used to remove samples overlaying land masses. Data are provided in a geodatabase format, as well as a comma seperated values format. Movement Data of Partially Migratory Brown Pelicans from the South Atlantic Bight

This dataset contains locations acquired from GPS-tagged Brown Pelicans in the South Atlantic Bight. Locations correspond to the movements of pelicans tracked during the autumn migratory period (post-breed to the following spring, with length of deployment varying individually) from 2017-2020. Additional metrics include intrinsic and extrinsic variables both measured and acquired which may influence migration.

Concentrations of Perfluoroalkyl Substances in the Eggs of Brown Pelicans from Charleston, SC (2019)

This dataset contains concentrations of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) measured in the eggs of brown pelicans nesting near Charleston, SC, USA, as well as movements of brown pelicans tracked with GPS-Platform Terminal transmitters. In total, 36 eggs were measured from three breeding colonies of brown pelicans for the presence of 24 PFAS analytes using LC-MS/MS. Concentrations were then analyzed for differences between colonies based on urban habitat use and distance from Charleston.

GPS tracking of Brown Pelican in the South Atlantic Bight during cyclonic activity (2017-2018)

This dataset comprises GPS locations analyzed in Wilkinson et al. (2019): 14,478 deployed GPS locations, for 32 Eastern brown pelicans tracked during Hurricanes Irma, Florence, and Michael in autumn 2017 and 2018, respectively. Funding for this study was provided by the U.S. Geological Survey Ecosystem Missions Area, and facilitated by Mona Khalil (USGS). Among seabirds, the Eastern brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis carolinensis) is a large-bodied coastal species inhabiting nearshore habitats.
