Long-term environmental management to prevent waterfowl population declines is informed by ecology, movement behavior and habitat use patterns. Extrinsic factors such as human-induced disturbance can cause behavioral changes which may influence movement, and resource needs, driving variation that affects management efficacy. In this data set, records (rows) represent GPS locations of ducks marked with telemetry in California and whether locations were overlapping (within 300 m of) locations of marked ducks in other consecutive years (2015-16, 2016-17, and 2017-18) during October - March. Wild lesser scaup from the Chesapeake Bay, captured and implanted with satellite transmitters for a separate ecology study, were opportunistically sampled for avian influenza. These data detail the virological sampling results, obtained post release, which include a single positive for clade 2.3.4.4 H5N1 virus of the A/goose/Guangdong/1/1996 (Gs/GD) H5N1 lineage of highly pathogenic IAV. These data also include the movements of the infected bird from release until death as well as four conspecifics marked and released concurrent with the HPAI positive bird. The Underwater Acoustic Deterrent System is an experimental deterrent that utilizes underwater sounds to deter invasive carps. An experimental deployment and evaluation of a UADS is currently being conducted at Lock 19 on the Mississippi River, near Keokuk, Iowa. This dataset includes information derived from two telemetry arrays (i.e., 307 kHz HTI and 69 kHz VEMCO) deployed at and around Lock 19 to evaluate fish movement and response to the UADS in 2021 and 2022. Silver Carp, Bighead Carp, Grass Carp, and a variety of native fish species were tagged and monitored with the telemetry arrays. Combined telemetry locations for sage grouse in Mono County which were fitted with radio-transmitters for the USGS Greater sage-grouse project. Contains spatial and temporal information as well as topography, estimated habitat types, elevation, slope, etc. Dataset is complete for all birds from January 2003 to November 2005. Accuracy of individual data fields currently being verified, spatial and temporal accuracy has however, been verified.

These data are comprised of measurements of elements (i.e., aluminum, iron, vanadium, chromium, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, arsenic, selenium, cadmium, tin, antimony, barium, thallium, lead, mercury, sodium, magnesium, potassium, calcium, manganese, and strontium) in Kemp's ridley sea turtle (Lepidochelys kempii) egg contents. The eggs were collected along the Texas Gulf coast in 2010-2013; only eggs that failed to hatch were retained for analyses. All results are provided on a dry-weight basis in units of mg/kg.
This dataset includes information derived from a Vemco telemetry array located at Lock and Dam 19 on the Mississippi River near Keokuk, IA. Ten fish species, comprised of both native and invasive species, were detected with this system. Lock Queue Reports, which detail the daily lock operation for river traffic, were obtained from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Temperature data were recorded on the Vemco receivers and stage height data were obtained from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Six worksheets are included in this file, including a meta-data sheet that describes the datasets, provides variable names, and associated units of measure.

Understanding how routing modifications influence survival of juvenile salmon is complex because reach-specific survival and routing at key river junctions in the North Delta each have a different relationship with river flow. Hawaiian hoary bats (Lasiurus cinereus semotus) on Hawaii island were surveyed intermittently from 2004–2010. This data release is a single table of resulting bat location estimates, including date, time, coordinates for each location, and presumed bat activity at the time of collection. Nightly movements were documented for 30 Hawaiian hoary bats along the windward (eastern) side of the island of Hawaii. Each bat was fitted with a colored, split ring forearm band (Size X3; A. C. To effectively manage species and habitats at multiple scales, land managers require rapid information on wildlife use of managed areas and responses to landscape conditions and management actions. Global positioning system (GPS) tracking studies of wildlife are particularly informative to species ecology, habitat use, and conservation. Data sets collected for manatee movement and habitat research in the Northern Gulf of Mexico from 2013-2019. These include manatee GPS tracking, manatee sightings, aquatic vegetation from manatee use areas, and environmental data (salinity and bathymetry at vegetation sampling sites).
‘Ōpe‘ape‘a (Hawaiian hoary bats; Lasiurus semotus) were surveyed at 23 sites on Hawaiʻi Island from 33 to 2,341 m elevation from May 2018 to August 2021. Of the 23 sites, 8 were established as fixed survey sites for sampling at repeated intervals from January 2019 through January 2021. We surveyed each fixed site at least once per four-month period (January–April, May–August, September–December), with a survey comprising one to three netting events. This dataset contains tracking durations for several species of sea turtles tagged with satellite tags between 2008 and 2019. It contains information on species, turtle size, capture methods, tag type, how many days each tag transmitted, whether or not the tag was still attached upon recapture, fouling 'status' of the tag, and foraging region. This dataset thus allows estimation of tracking durations for four species of marine turtles tagged in different study sites in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.
These data show the placement of acoustic telemetry receivers in Yellowstone Lake between 2011 and 2015. Receivers were placed in the lake to record fish movement throught the year. This data release shows the coordinates, timing, and receiver ID for each for each receiver deployment.
