This data release provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution airborne radiometric survey over parts of Montana in the vicinity of the Boulder Batholith. The airborne survey was jointly funded by the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative and Kennecott Exploration Company. The survey was designed to meet complementary needs related to geologic mapping and characterization of mineral resource potential. A total of 34,041 line km of magnetic and radiometric data were acquired over an irregular-shaped area of 6178 km2. Fine-sediment elemental chemistry and short-lived cosmogenic radionuclides (Beryllium-7, Cesium-137, and Lead-210) were quantified to describe land-based sediment sources and runoff to Olowalu Reef in February 2022. Charcoal counts, total organic carbon contents, and 76 urban- and wildfire-associated contaminants called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were quantified to explore urban and wildfire effects in watersheds above Olowalu Reef and in reef sediment. National Assessment of Oil and Gas Project - Southwestern Wyoming Province (037) Maturation Contours
The maturation contours show vitrinite reflectance trends and ranges for petroleum system horizons within the Southwestern Wyoming Province. The horizons are the base of the Niobrara Formation, the top of the Frontier Formation, the base of the Mesaverde Formation, the top of the Mesaverde Formation/base of the Lewis Formation, and the top of the Lewis Formation. This USGS data release evaluates the impact of historical mining sites on water quality using samples collected in late July 2021 from Big Creek tributaries Coin Creek, Smith Creek, and Monumental Creek in Valley County, Idaho. These data were collected to support a fisheries mining impact assessment in the Middle Fork Salmon River. Specific conductance, pH, and stream temperature were measured in the field. Analyses include major cations and anions, alkalinity, trace metals, total mercury, and methylmercury.
