High-resolution geophysical mapping of Lake Powell in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in Utah and Arizona was conducted between October 8 and November 15, 2017, as part of a collaborative effort between the U.S. Geological Survey and the Bureau of Reclamation to provide high-quality data needed to reassess the area-capacity tables for the Lake Powell reservoir. Seismic data collected during this survey can help to define the rates of deposition within the San Juan and Colorado Rivers, which are the main inflows to Lake Powell. These new data are intended to improve water budget management decisions that affect the natural and recreational resources of the reservoir. Multibeam echosounder bathymetry and...

Our objective was to develop a species-distribution model using habitat associations that represent probability of suitable habitat for the species historical range and the range under climate change scenarios including a hot/dry prediction (MIROC3.2) and a cool/wet prediction (ECHAM5) and 1-m and 2-m sea level rise scenarios; urban growth was also inlcuded. Future model predictions were based on extrapolated data for two time steps in the 21st century: mid (2046-2064) and late (2081-2100). Species distributions were modeled with Maxent (Maximum Entropy presence-only algorithm); climate change scenarios were based on precipitation and temperature changes as applied to stream conditions (e.g., flow) modeled with...

A database of geologic map of Three Sisters Volcanic Cluster as described in the original abstract: The geologic map represents part of a late Quaternary volcanic field within which scores of eruptions have taken place over the last 50,000 years, some as recently as ~1,500 years ago. No rocks of early Pleistocene (or greater) age crop out within the map area, although volcanic and derivative sedimentary rocks of Miocene and Pliocene age are widespread to the east and west and are certainly buried beneath the younger volcanic field. Of the 145 volcanic map units described herein, only 22 are certainly older than late Pleistocene (>126 ka), and 12 are postglacial (<15 ka). The oldest unit identified yields an age...

This is a database of the geologic map of the Lassen Peak, Chaos Crags, and Upper Hat Creek volcanic area as described in the original abstract: The Lassen Peak, Chaos Crags, and Upper Hat Creek map area lies near the southern end of the Cascade Range in northern California. The map area includes parts of the three elements that together form the Lassen volcanic center: the Lassen dacitic dome field, the Central Plateau andesitic lava field, and the underlying deeply eroded and partly altered Brokeoff andesitic stratocone. The Lassen volcanic center is the southernmost active long-lived center of the present-day Cascades volcanic arc. This geologic map contributes to understanding the youngest major volcanic events...

This dataset is a compilation of several different datasets with a 1-mile buffer. It is used as an input for the USFWS Fuels Management Allocation and Accountability System (FAAS), which determines the percentage of the Fuels Management budget allocated to each of 8 regions. These data are valid for a period of three years, after which the FAAS model will be re-run with updated input data.

The Louisiana State Legislature created the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) in order to conserve, restore, create and enhance Louisiana's coastal wetlands. The wetland restoration plans developed pursuant to these acts specifically require an evaluation of the effectiveness of each coastal wetlands restoration project in achieving long-term solutions to arresting coastal wetlands loss. This data set includes mosaicked aerial photographs for the Delta Management at Fort St. Philip (BS-11) project for 2021. This data is used as a basemap land-water classification. It also serves as a visual tool for project managers to help them identify any obvious problems or land loss within their...
