We collected diets on Yellowstone cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii bouvieri) and brown trout (Salmo trutta) above (Yellowstone cutthroat trout allopatry) and below (Yellowstone cutthroat trout sympatry with brown trout) a natural barrier in Duck Creek, Montana. We used gastric lavage methods to collect diets, and samples were placed in storage containers and taken back to our lab and frozen until sorting. All samples were sorted by Rhithron, Inc. (Missoula, MT) with individuals identified down to the order.
This dataset contains simple sequence repeat genotypes from Tetracapsuloides bryosalmonae infecting the tissue of fish collected from various locations throughout western and central Montana, USA.

Real-time PCR results of a round robin evaluation of 5 assays that target dreissenid mussel DNA. Water samples collected from waters with and without dreissenid mussels were analyzed using these five assays in four USGS laboratories. Samples from waters without dreissenid mussels were spiked with known amounts of dreissend DNA.

The USGS Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center (WY–MT WSC) completed a report (Sando and McCarthy, 2018) documenting methods for peak-flow frequency analysis following implementation of the Bulletin 17C guidelines. The methods are used to provide estimates of peak-flow quantiles for 66.7-, 50-, 42.9-, 20-, 10-, 4-, 2-, 1-, 0.5-, and 0.2-percent annual exceedance probabilities (AEPs) for selected USGS streamgages. This data release presents peak-flow frequency analyses for selected streamgages in the Upper Yellowstone River Basin, based on data through water year 2022, using methods described by Sando and McCarthy (2018).

Environmental DNA detection results from samples collected using autonomous water sampling robots and manual approaches. Samples were collected in the Upper Yellowstone River (Montana) and Upper Snake River (Idaho/Wyoming) in 2018 and 2019. Samples were tested for the DNA of the following species: the waterborne protozoa Naegleria spp., the fish pathogen Tetracapsuloides bryosalmonae, Scomber japonicas (mackerel fish), kokanee salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka) and dreissenid mussel (Dreissena spp.).
