These data are high-resolution bathymetry (lake bottom elevation) in a gridded XYZ format, generated from hydrographic surveys of Morse and Geist Reservoirs in April and May of 2016. Hydrographic data were collected using a multibeam echo-sounder (MBES) with integrated inertial navigation solution (INS) mounted on a marine survey vessel. Data were collected as the vessel traversed the lake along survey lines distributed throughout the area. Data collection software integrated and stored the depth data from the multibeam sonar and the horizontal and vertical position and attitude data of the vessel from the INS in real time. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), at the request of the U.S. Army Environmental Command (USAEC), evaluated the capabilities of two borehole technologies to measure horizontal groundwater velocity and direction of flow in a parallel-plate fractured-rock simulator. A colloidal borescope flowmeter (HB) and a heat-pulse flowmeter (HH) were deployed in 4-inch and 6-inch inner-diameter simulated uncased wells that spanned 0.39- and 1.0-inch apertures with simulated groundwater velocities ranging from 2 to 958 feet per day. These orthophotos and digital surface model (DSM) were derived from low-altitude (approximately 92-m above ground surface) images collected from Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) flights over edge-of-field sites that are part of U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) monitoring. The objective of this UAS photogrammetry data collection was to provide information on the tile-drain network in individual fields with the goal of understanding already observed patterns in runoff amount and water quality from these sites. In 2015-2018, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Great Lakes Restoration Initiative investigated the biodegradation of microcystins in source waters and sand filters from drinking-water plants in the Western Lake Erie Basin. Four source waters and three sand filtrate samples were collected from the intakes and sand filters of Lake Erie drinking-water plants and transported to the USGS Ohio Water Microbiology Laboratory, where investigators set up microcosms to enrich for and identify indigenous bacteria capable of degrading microcystins. These data are bathymetry (lake bottom elevation) in XYZ format, generated from the April 9–10, 2018, survey of Bourbon Lake and Williams Lake near Loretto, Kentucky. Bathymetric and topographic data were collected using an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) and a real-time kinematic global positioning system (GPS). Data were collected as the AUV traversed the lake along planned survey lines, and these data were supplemented by manual GPS shots in a few areas the AUV could not reach. Data collection software integrated and stored the depth and position data from the AUV in real time. Data processing required computer software to extract bathymetry data from the raw data files and to summarize and map the information.

This dataset provides physical and chemical data for a sediment-fingerprinting study conducted in the upper parts of the Linganore Creek watershed in an effort to quantify and determine the sources of fine-grained sediments eroded from and deposited on streambanks, flood plains, channel beds, and agricultural and forested uplands. Data were collected from August 1, 2008 through December 31, 2010. Chemical data include median particle size, total organic carbon (C) and total nitrogen (N), and concentrations for 19 elements. Physical data includes upstream drainage area from sampling location as well as land-use type.

These data provide beryllium-7 (7Be) and excess lead-210 (210Pbxs) activity for fine-grained, mobile, streambed sediment in the Black Creek, Indiana (IN) stream-channel network. This basin is monitored in cooperation with the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI). During 2015-17, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service (USDA FS), carried out a study to characterize the hydrology and water chemistry in the Rock Creek and Cumberland River areas of the Daniel Boone National Forest. The study areas were historically mined for coal and have since been the focus of remediation efforts. The study examined the contributions of tributaries and gains/losses in both areas, and continuous water-quality and base flow estimates at Rock Creek, so the USDA FS can thoroughly evaluate the current conditions and move forward with well-informed remediation efforts.

Digital flood-inundation maps were created by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District and the City of Rittman as part of a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Study (FIS). The flood-inundation maps show estimates of the areal extent corresponding to the 1% and 0.2% annual-exceedance probability floods. Flood profiles were computed for each stream reach by means of a one-dimensional step-backwater model.

Hydrographic data were collected in three separate areas (approach channel, mooring area, and upstream pool) using a multibeam echo-sounder (MBES) with integrated inertial navigation solution (INS) mounted on a marine survey vessel. Sediment depth data were collected in the approach channel using navigational software and probing equipment mounted on a marine survey vessel.
