This website accompanies task 1 as described in the final report, “Comparability of landscape connectivity products for large-scale landscape planning.” The website is a compilation of data on recent, ongoing, and planned landscape connectivity modeling studies across the Landscape Conservation Cooperative (LCC) network. As of April 2014, we have compiled data from 73 studies of 116 species. The vast majority of studies use circuit theory or least-cost paths to model connectivity, but other approaches represented in the database include graph theory, resistant kernel models, and models of genetic relatedness.

The original Simple Viewer displayed the South Atlantic Conservation Blueprint 1.0 at the subwatershed and marine lease block scale. In this interface you could also find information about other landscape scale conservation plans, land cover, and protection status.
This project involved developing a new design for the South Atlantic LCC website (including development of new code and graphics/images as needed) and designing a factsheet template, an online newsletter template, a powerpoint template, and small info cards based on the modern website redesign. The project initially specified the Ning 3.0 platform, which changed to WordPress when Ning stopped supporting upgrades to Version 3.0.

Through the Desert Landscape Conservation Cooperative, conservation partners in the southwestern US and northern Mexico identified the need to create an inventory of case studies on management actions, partnership and collaboration, monitoring, and adaptive management. Sharing lessons learned through case studies can inform management practices by facilitating communication and learning in the conservation community. With funding support from the USDA Southwest Climate Hub, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Reclamation, and Forest Service are partnering to launch CCAST to share case studies on a new online platform. The goal of this effort is to develop a user-friendly “management toolbox” to inform achievable...

Populations of many cold-water species are likely to decline this century with global warming, but declines will vary spatially and some populations will persist even under extreme climate change scenarios. Especially cold habitats could provide important refugia from both future environmental change and invasions by non-native species that prefer warmer waters. The Climate Shield website hosts geospatial data and related information that describes specific locations of cold-water refuge streams for native Cutthroat Trout and Bull Trout across the American West. Forecasts about the locations of refugia could enable the protection of key watersheds, be used to rally support among multiple stakeholders, and provide...
This website provides visualization and access to global and regional (downscaled) climate data. We also provide access to data, figures and other information associated with our climate change research publications. We currently are serving fine scale present and future climate data obtained from dynamical and statistical downscaling efforts. In the near future we will be adding global and regional scale paleoclimate data sets. Data related to publications will be added and updated as available. The dynamically downscaled climate simulations were conducted with the regional climate model RegCM3 which is a high-resolution atmospheric model coupled with a physically based model of surface processes (Biosphere...
The Prioritization Tool is a web application for identifying the best opportunities to restore rare and threatened habitats for Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN) and other species in the Northeast. The goal underlying the development of the restoration tool was to identify areas of degraded habitat having high restoration potential, which if restored would contribute to the network of connected, intact, and resilient sites for biodiversity conservation mapped by Nature’s Network. The tool allows users to (1) display a series of prioritization maps developed for a set of pre-defined “scenarios” (e.g., American woodcock), and (2) create their own scenarios using a catalog of nearly 400 metrics. The basic...
The Future San Francisco Bay Tidal Marshes Climate Smart Planning Tool is a web application that enables the user to view and query maps made with projected tidal marsh elevations, vegetation changes, five tidal marsh-dependent bird species distribution probabilities and densities, and current and future conservation prioritization. The map-making tool presents the user with current and future maps side by side, and allows for choices of higher and lower levels of sea level rise, sediment availability, and organic material accumulation. The purpose for using the tool is to support an understanding of how sea level rise may change the extent of tidal marsh habitat and bird species distribution over the next 100 years,...
WHIPPET is an online tool that helps land managers determine which invasive plant populations are the highest priority for eradication. The tool scores populations based on their impact, spread, and feasibility of control. The user can select their region of concern and the species to consider from among the 210 listed in the California Invasive Plant Council Inventory. Beta version to be released fall 2013.
This website is a collaborative hub for Green River Basin Landscape Conservation Design (GRB LCD) participants to access project information, documents and data. It’s a space for all to contribute ideas, news, project information or files through collaborative discussion, document editing and data sharing tools.
Climate change is creating new challenges for biodiversity conservation. As temperatures, rainfall patterns, and sea levels change, distributions of plants and animals may shift geographically, altering their relationships with the environment and other species. As part of the response to climate change, the conservation community is starting to make decisions on longer time frames and with a focus on “adaptation” strategies to help species and habitats adjust. One of the first steps in adaptation planning is to conduct vulnerability assessments to identify which species or systems are likely to be most affected by climate change and why. Climate envelope models are an important tool used in vulnerability assessments...

DescriptionWelcome to the Conservation Blueprint 1.0 Map on the Conservation Planning Atlas! The Blueprint is a living spatial plan for responding to future changes like urban growth, sea level rise, and climate change. More than 300 people from 85 organizations were actively involved in developing this version of the Blueprint. This mapping interface, hosted on the Conservation Planning Atlas, is designed to help inform conservation decisions by allowing you to explore the Blueprint and add data layers. You’ll find information on priority areas, recommended actions, and other spatial data relevant to conservation planning.Learn more about the BlueprintLooking for something less complicated? Evaluation of Climate Change Impacts for the Southwest U.S. and Northern MexicoTool helps land managers visualize the projected impacts of a changing climate on birds and habitats.Birds are closely linked to climate and vegetation. Because of this, they can provide early warnings of broader changes to come. PLuMA is an interactive, online tool that allows users to: Identify climate change impacts Focus on conservation and adaptation priorities Highlight priority locations for monitoring, habitat restoration, and protection Determine priority species for monitoring Build capacity for collaboration across institutions and bordersHow will changing climates impact the birds and habitats of the southwestern U.S. and...

This simple interface is designed to help inform conservation decisions by allowing you to explore a suite of data layers and models. You’ll find information on priority natural resources, biodiversity richness, landscape connectivity and integrity, surface waters and factors contributing to potential landscape change (sea level rise, urban development). 1 Compare Key Characteristics across FloridaUse one of the tabs above to explore different combinations of key characteristics assessed at the watershed scale across the state. Click on the bars in the charts to filter the map by that class. You can combine filters across tabs and across factors within a tab. You can also display that factor on the map by clicking...

Project funding included data production for Montana and Idaho to help support the NWI Wetlands Mapper data download webpage and the resulting data is accessible through this web tool. GNLCC project funds did not directly go toward website development.
This database was compiled as a part of a species distribution modeling project, and contains species traits obtained from targeted literature searches for 26 threatened and endangered species located in Florida. All of the traits below are searchable through this query tool, and a list of species with data that match your criteria will be generated. All data can be exported to Excel. For more information, please select the links containing the project information and metadata.
