This dataset provides spatial predictions of habitat suitability for Gopherus agassizii (Agassiz’s desert tortoise), Gopherus morafkai (Morafka’s desert tortoise) and a pooled-species model under current conditions (1950 – 2000 yr). The raster layers contained here accompany the manuscript Inman et al. 2019 and were used to evaluate subtle ecological niche differences between G. agassizii and G. morafkai, and identify local species-environment relationships. Spatial predictions of habitat suitability were created using MaxEnt version 3.4.0 (Phillips et al., 2006), a widely-used software for SDM in presence-background frameworks. Detailed methods are provided in Inman et al. 2019. Inman et al. 2019. Local niche...

This file contains the raw data collected as part of a vegetation monitoring study that was conducted to assess the changes in plant species frequency inside and outside a fenced exclosure, constructed to eliminate browsing and grazing by feral goats, from 2009-2014 in the US Geological Survey's Kawela research site on the island of Molokai, Hawaii.

This dataset contains information on all snakehead fishes found in the United States. It is a subset of a larger database, the Nonindigenous Aquatic Species Database (NAS). This information resource is an established central repository for spatially referenced biogeographic accounts of introduced aquatic species. The NAS website provides scientific reports, online/real-time queries, spatial data sets, distribution maps, fact sheets, and general information.

This dataset provides spatial predictions of clustering and the genotype association index for the Mojave genotype in local species-environment relationships of Desert Tortoises (Gopherus agassizi and Gopherus morafkaii) for individuals in the subregion encompassing the genetic sampling locations used by Edwards et al. (2015). This region offered an opportunity to explore habitat selection across the ecotone between the Mojave and Sonoran deserts and the secondary contact zone between G. agassizii and G. morafkai, and is referred to as the focal study area. The raster layers contained here accompany the manuscript Inman et al. 2019 and were used to identify multivariate clusters and map them back to geographic space....

This dataset provides spatial predictions of the pooled-SDM residuals from a multiscale geographically weighted regression model (MGWR) and the resulting local R2 values for individuals in the subregion encompassing the genetic sampling locations used by Edwards et al. The urbanized area of downtown Menlo Park is subject to persistent flooding and sediment deposition by San Francisquito Creek in South San Francisco Bay. To mitigate these events, a suite of cores was collected in 2002 at the mouth of the creek to determine sediment depositional rates on the delta. One of those cores (721-1) was selected for microbiological (pollen, diatoms, and foraminifera) and geochemical analyses to reconstruct a depositional record over the past two millennia. This data release provides radiocarbon dates, census counts of benthic foraminifera, diatoms, and palynomorphs, and the measurement of anthropogenic metals and other elements in sediments from this core.

This dataset contains the physical collection information (e.g., sample location, date, gear type) and microsatellite DNA genotype of egg and larval Lake Sturgeon collected in the St. Clair and Detroit rivers in 2015 and 2016. Individuals were genotyped for 18 microsatellite loci (13 disomic and 5 polysomic). Alleles (base pair sizes) were recorded as presence absence scores (1:present, 2:absent, 0:missing data) for all previously observed alleles. Thus individual genotypes were recorded as pseudo diploid dominant phenotypes resulting in individual vectors of length n=205 for each genotyped egg or larval individual.

This dataset contains information on the Bullseye Snakehead fish found only in southeastern Florida.

This data release contains two files: 1) the raw data collected as part of a vegetation monitoring study that was conducted to assess the changes in plant species frequency inside and outside a fenced exclosure, constructed to eliminate browsing and grazing by feral goats, from 2009-2014 in the US Geological Survey's Kawela research site on the island of Molokai, Hawaii. 2) A list of species that were recorded during the vegetation monitoring or species that were found in the general area but not recorded during monitoring.

This dataset provides the environmental explanatory variables used to explore spatial patterns in species-environment relationships in Gopherus agassizii and Gopherus morafkai across the subregion encompassing the genetic sampling locations used by Edwards et al. This data release provides census counts of benthic foraminifera (in percent for the total fauna and as raw counts for just the living specimens) as well as environmental parameters (temperature, salinity, and oxygen concentration) at the sampling sites, and radiocarbon measurements from selected push core samples obtained under and near a whale-fall off western Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

These data include environmental covariates used to develop species distribution models for Gopherus agassizii and Gopherus morafkai, along with PCA-reduced environmental covariates used to explore local species-environment relationships within a subregion of the ectone between the two species. We also provide the genotype association used to test the mapped clusters of multiscale geographically weighted regression coefficients against models of (i) a geographically-based taxonomic designation these two sister species, and (ii) an environmental ecoregion designation. These data support the following publication: Inman et al. 2019. Local niche differences predict genotype associations in sister taxa of desert tortoise....

This refined map was created to help assess possible spread of nonindigenous aquatic species distributions due to flooding associated with Hurricane Harvey. Storm surge and flood events can assist expansion and dissemination of nonindigenous aquatic species through the connection of adjacent watersheds, backflow of water upstream of impoundments, increased downstream flow, and creation of freshwater bridges along coastal regions. This map will help natural resource managers determine potential new locations for individual species, or to develop a watch list of possible new species within a watershed. These data include a subset of data from the Nonindigenous Aquatic Species Database, that fall within the general...

This metadata record describes 4 tabular data sets that estimate fraction of the total dry or wet deposition due to emissions from fertilizer and animal manure based on output from the Community Multiscale Air Quality modeling system (CMAQ, Zhang and others, 2019) compiled for two spatial components of the NHDPlus version 2.1 data suite (hereto referred as NHDPlusv2) for the conterminous United States; 1) individual reach catchments and 2) reach catchments accumulated upstream through the river network. This dataset can be linked to the NHDPlus version 2.1 data suite by the unique identifier COMID. Reach catchment information characterizes data at the local scale. Reach catchments accumulated upstream through the...
