Alaska Division of Oil and Gas personnel collected and interpreted various data sources related to the interpretation of the Base Tertiary unconformity surface in the Cook Inlet Basin, Alaska.Data sources included public literature, public well data information (from the AOGCC-Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission), a palynology database (Greater Cook Inlet Stratigraphic Palynology Control Database and Stud,Zippi, P.A., 2006) and over 2000 miles of 2D marine seismic data (CI-88 and CI-89 licensed from, and complements of, CGGVeritas.) Interpreted formation tops of the Base Tertiary unconformity are tabulated on the map.

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. The Gulf of Alaska is one of the most productive marine ecosystems on Earth, supporting salmon fisheries that alone provide nearly $1 billion per year in economic benefits to Southeast Alaska. Glaciers are central to many of the area’s natural processes and economic activities, but the rates of glacier loss in Alaska are among the highest on Earth, with a 26-36 percent reduction in total volume expected by the end of the century. The Alaska Geologic Materials Center (GMC) in Eagle River holds non-proprietary rock core and cuttings that represent over 13 million feet of exploration and production drilling in Alaska. Additionally, the collection holds more than 252,000 linear feet of diamond-drilled hard-rock mineral core, representing more than 1,800 exploratory boreholes; 76,000 linear feet of oil and gas core and rock samples from more than 1,650 exploratory or production wells; samples for geotechnical boreholes; and numerous surface rock and sediment samples. We present a numeric grid containing estimates of the thickness of unconsolidated sediments for the western United States. Values for these grids were combined and integrated from previous studies or derived directly from gravity analyses. The grids are provided with 1-km grid-node spacing in WGS84 latitude-longitude coordinates. This dataset includes shallow surface sediment (top 0–2 cm interval) constituent concentration data (primarily) and microbial methylmercury production potential rate data (limited) collected from the Cache Creek Settling Basin (CCSB), Yolo County, California, between April 2010 and July 2017. Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) has conducted 1:63,360-scale geologic mapping of the Sagavanirktok B-1 Quadrangle (640 square km�equivalent to four 7.5 minute quadrangles). This mapping project reinterprets micropaleontologic correlations for 17 Sagavanirktok Quadrangle wells, and reprocesses data from the one publicly-available seismic line. Surface geologic mapping, subsurface-to-surface stratigraphic age control, and seismic framework are required to reliably decipher the complex geology of this key area of the Brooks Range. The Stormwater Action Monitoring (SAM) program is a cumulative and regional monitoring effort in the Puget Sound region of Washington State. Under the SAM program, the status and trends of water chemistry, sediment chemistry, habitat and biota in small streams and nearshore marine waters in the Puget Lowlands are monitored and documented. As part of recommendations to the program made in 2018, site selection in 2019 focused on small watersheds ranging in size from 2.5-50 km2 with varying amounts of urbanization. The Florida Flood Hub for Applied Research and Innovation and the U.S. Geological Survey have developed projected future change factors for precipitation depth-duration-frequency (DDF) curves at 242 NOAA Atlas 14 stations in Florida. The change factors were computed as the ratio of projected future to historical extreme-precipitation depths fitted to extreme-precipitation data from downscaled climate datasets using a constrained maximum likelihood (CML) approach as described in https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20225093. The Colorado River Basin, poor in water and rich in energy resources, is examined to see if water quality can be sustained for U.S. and Mexican users. Activities to mine, process, transport, and convert resources to energy and to reclaim the land all require water, although development is expected to continue in spite of uncertainties. Projections of water requirements for different energy sources are summarized for the 1990-2000 time period. The Cache Creek Settling Basin (CCSB) is a 13.3 km2 leveed basin located at the terminal drainage of the Cache Creek watershed, immediately NE of the town of Woodland (Yolo County), California and approximately 18 km NW of Sacramento, California. This preliminary report is a summary of progress made during the 2006-07 field seasons reconstructing depositional systems in Tertiary strata exposed in the Homer-Kachemak Bay area.The study area addressed in this report extends from Clam Gulch in the north to Coal Cove in the south.Tertiary strata in this area are only mildly deformed and provide a relatively clear view of depositional systems and sand body geometries along the eastern basin edge and their change from basin edge to more basin axial positions.
