This map service is an information surface representing the shallowest distance to the top of a bedrock layer within a soil map unit polygon. To calculate this value, any component or combination of components in a soil map unit polygon that are greater than or equal to 15% of the whole soil map unit are considered significant. And of these significant components, the shallowest distance to bedrock is reported by this service.
