This dataset presents grazing allotments (from BLM and USFS) within the context of current and near-term terrestrial intactness and long-term potential for energy development and potential for climate change (4KM reporting units). Current terrestrial intactness is based on current measures of landscape development, fire regime and vegetation impacts, and fragmentation. Near-term intactness includes estimates of urban growth and expansion of invasive vegetation. Long-term potential for energy development is based on areas of potential for wind, solar, and petroleum development derived from multiple sources. Long-term potential for climate change is based on absolute changes in runoff, precipitation, temperature,...

This dataset represents the consolidated submissions for non-energy minerals and prospecting permit application data from BLM states responding to the WO 300 data call during the time period of November 2011 through May 2012. It is intended solely for use in the GRSG cumulative effects analysis. Source data, their acquisition methods and errors/omission rate vary. All original datasets used to create this dataset are stored in the BLM’s NOC E-GIS file structure. The paths to the original data are stored in this file’s attribute table. See the source data for detailed metadata and error analysis. Processing to develop this dataset: 1. Added a "Source" field to the attribute table of the original submission. 2. Populated...

This data was collected by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Colorado. This dataset is meant to depict the surface owner or manager of the land parcels. In the vast majority of land parcels, they will be one and the same. However, there are instances where the owner and manager of the land surface are not the same. When this occurs, the manager of the land is usually indicated.

ESRI file geodatabase of greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) range-wide breeding densities at 25% (BreedingDensity25), 50% (BreedingDensity50), 75% (BreedingDensity75) and 100% and the the current and historic distribution of potential habitat, or range, of the Greater Sage-grouse in Western North America were merged together. The current and historic distriubtion of potential habitat was initially researched and compiled by Dr. Michael A. Schroeder, research biologist for the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. The initial draft of current and historic range data was mapped and submitted to state, federal, or provincial natural resource agencies and other experts for review, comment, and...

This data set is a complete digital hydrologic unit boundary layer to the Subwatershed (12-digit) 6th level for the entire United States. This data set consists of geo-referenced digital data and associated attributes created in accordance with the "Federal Guidelines, Requirements, and Procedures for the National Watershed Boundary Dataset; Chapter 3 of Section A, Federal Standards, Book 11, Collection and Delineation of Spatial Data; Techniques and Methods 11-A3" (04/01/2009). http://www.ncgc.nrcs.usda.gov/products/datasets/watershed/index.html . Polygons are attributed with hydrologic unit codes for 4th level sub-basins, 5th level watersheds, 6th level subwatersheds, name, size, downstream hydrologic unit, type...

Ecoregions by state were extracted from the seamless national shapefile. Ecoregions denote areas of general similarity in ecosystems and in the type, quality, and quantity of environmental resources. They are designed to serve as a spatial framework for the research, assessment, management, and monitoring of ecosystems and ecosystem components. These general purpose regions are critical for structuring and implementing ecosystem management strategies across federal agencies, state agencies, and nongovernment organizations that are responsible for different types of resources within the same geographical areas. The approach used to compile this map is based on the premise that ecological regions can be identified...

This simple assessment layer is used to answer management questions (MQs) about which high biodiversity sites (HBS) will experience significant climate change in the near future scenario in the Central Great Basin and Range Ecoregion. This is a basic intersect of areas that will likely experience significant climate change effects with the areas that have been identified by previous 3rd party analyses as having extraordinary biodiversity. It does not model actual response or condition of the HBS to climate change. Nearly all HBS in the ecoregion will experience significant effects according to the criteria that were selected. The climate space trends data layer was used to ascertain areas of significant climate...

This data was created by the Wildlife GIS group. Property boundaries are created by dissolving CDOWParcels by the property name, property type and public access designation. All parcel data correspond to legal transactions made by the CDOW Real Estate Unit. The boundaries of the CDOW Parcels were digitized using meets and bounds, BLM's GCDB dataset, the plss dataset (where the GCDB dataset was unavailable) and using existing digital data on the boundaries.

The Monitoring Trends in Burn Severity (MTBS) project assesses the frequency, extent, and magnitude (size and severity) of all large wildland fires (includes wildfire, wildland fire use, and prescribed fire) in the conterminous United States (CONUS), Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico for the period of 1984 through 2010. All fires reported as greater than 1,000 acres in the western U.S. and greater than 500 acres in the eastern U.S. are mapped across all ownerships. MTBS produces a series of geospatial and tabular data for analysis at a range of spatial, temporal, and thematic scales and are intended to meet a variety of information needs that require consistent data about fire effects through space and time. This...
