To better map the urban class and understand how urban lands change over time, we removed rural roads and small patches of rural development from the NLCD developed class and created four wall-to-wall maps (1992, 2001, 2006, and 2011) of urban land. Removing rural roads from the NLCD developed class involved a multi-step filtering process, data fusion using geospatial road and developed land data, and manual editing. Reference data classified as urban or not urban from a stratified random sample was used to assess the accuracy of the 2001 and 2006 urban and NLCD maps. The newly created urban maps had higher overall accuracy (98.7%) than the NLCD maps (96.2%). More importantly, the urban maps resulted in lower commission...
This Wyoming Cities coverage contains data for 109 Wyoming towns, cities, and Census Designated Areas. The coverage was created from U.S. Census Bureau Tiger Data. It contains many of the same attributes as the Census Bureau .dbf files, but there are a few modifications. A code has been added to distinguish towns, cities, and CDPs. Also a Countyseat item has been added to provide a way to display the County Seats only. Latitude/Longitude coordinates were also converted from the Census Bureau format to be used in GENERATE.

Polygons indicate the extent of urban (gridcode 5) and developed (gridcode 6) land cover in the greater Kabul area. Polygons were created from classification of Landsat 8 Operational Land Imagery (OLI) 30m resolution multispectral satellite imagery acquired on June 13, 2018.

This metadata record documents two comma delimited tables that contain information on fallout radionuclides and urban sediments within Dead Run watershed in Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland. Measurements include radiological activity for rainwater and sediment samples, sediment particle size information, suspended sediment concentration measurements, elemental composition of sediments, and sediment yields of paved surfaces. U.S. Census Urbanized Areas represents the Census 2000 Urbanized Areas (UA) and Urban Clusters (UC). A UA consists of contiguous, densely settled census block groups (BGs) and census blocks that meet minimum population density requirements (1000ppsm /500ppsm), along with adjacent densely settled census blocks that together encompass a population of at least 50,000 people. A UC consists of contiguous, densely settled census BGs and census blocks that meet minimum population density requirements, along with adjacent densely settled census blocks that together encompass a population of at least 2,500 people, but fewer than 50,000 people. The dataset covers the 50 States plus the District of Columbia within United States.
