Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCCs) are public-private partnerships composed of states, tribes, federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, universities, international jurisdictions, and others working together to address landscape and seascape scale conservation issues. LCCs inform resource management decisions to address broad-scale stressors-including habitat fragmentation, genetic isolation, spread of invasive species, and water scarcity-all of which are magnified by a rapidly changing climate. For further information go to https://www.fws.gov/science/catalog. The previous 2011 LCC Network Areas data is available at https://www.sciencebase.gov/catalog/item/52f2735ee4b0a6f0bd498c2f

These data represent a potential Conservation Target of the Working Lands Priority Resource (PR) for the PFLCC. Working Lands were delineated by extracting forestry and agriculture related land covers from the Cooperative Land Cover v. 3.2 (December 2016) and then refined using CLIP 4.0 Aggregated Model. The Critical Lands and Waters Identification Project (CLIP) is a collection of spatial data that identify statewide priorities for a broad range of natural resources in Florida. For additional information and metadata regarding the CLIP project see the Critical Lands and Waters Identification Project gallery found on the PFLCC’s Conservation Planning Atlas website (https://pflcc.databasin.org/galleries/47674f339d6d4780b2d17d0ec89bea1f)....

Project Summary In September, 2011, The North Pacific Land Conservation Cooperative (NPLCC) awarded Ecotrust a grant to develop a conservation priorities tool intended to assist the NPLCC and other natural resource managers, individuals, and community organizations in accessing, understanding and visualizing a wide variety of data sets pertaining to aquatic and terrestrial species, anthropogenic threats and potential vulnerabilities to climate change for freshwater and forest ecosystems throughout the NPLCC geographic area. Over the course of the grant period, Ecotrust developed a custom, spatially explicit, on-line decision support tool that was designed to both visualize these data and to identify regional...

Systematic conservation planning is well suited to address the many large-scale biodiversity conservation challenges facing the Appalachian region. However, broad, well-connected landscapes will be required to sustain many of the natural resources important to this area into the future. If these landscapes are to be resilient to impending change, it will likely require an orchestrated and collaborative effort reaching across jurisdictional and political boundaries. The first step in realizing this vision is prioritizing discrete places and actions that hold the greatest promise for the protection of biodiversity. The irreplacebility of the landscape was assessed to determine the importance of conservation. The number...
The study area was defined so as to span the Crown of the Continent, Salmon-Selway, and Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, and was delineated based on EPA Ecoregions as described in the Processing Steps.

This project completed a rapid update for wetland mapping in 162 coastal areas (1:24,000 topographic quadrangles in ME, MD, MA, NJ, NY, PA, and VA) that were last updated prior to 2000. The updates, which were incorporated into the National Wetland Inventory, have many applications in conservation analysis and coastal planning, including the Designing Sustainable Landscapes project (also funded by the North Atlantic LCC).Number of USGS quadrangles updated, by state.|** State** | No. of Quads || ——– | ——– || Maine | 23 || Maryland | 12 || Massachusetts | 64 || New Jersey | 6 || New York | 11 || Pennsylvania | 5 || Virginia | 41 || Total ** | **162 |

The set of terrestrial ecosystem core areas (unstratified) is one of two versions of terrestrial and wetland core areas that are part of a suite of products from the Nature’s Network project (naturesnetwork.org). Nature’s Network is a collaborative effort to identify shared priorities for conservation in the Northeast, considering the value of fish and wildlife species and the natural areas they inhabit. While the other version of terrestrial cores (Terrestrial Core-Connector Network, Northeast U.S.) is considered by the planning team to be the primary version for users, this version is also made available for reference and use. A number of additional datasets are also available in the Nature’s Network gallery:...
The Louisiana State Legislature created the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) in order to conserve, restore, create and enhance Louisiana's coastal wetlands. The wetland restoration plans developed pursuant to these acts specifically require an evaluation of the effectiveness of each coastal wetlands restoration project in achieving long-term solutions to arresting coastal wetlands loss. This data set includes mosaicked aerial photographs for the Naomi Outfall Management (BA-0003c), Barataria Bay Waterway East Side Shoreline Protection (BA-0026), and Naomi Freshwater Diversion (BA-0003) projects for 2018. This data is used as a basemap land-water classification. It also serves as...

The tabular dataset is a compilation of all historic observations of whooping crane locations up through 1941. Most of the records were obtained from Robert Porter Allen's 1952 report, "The Whooping Crane"; an additional 73 records were added from records found since 1952. Records include source (Allen 1952 [The Whooping Crane, Audubon]or other), location name, county, state or province, country (Canada, US, Mexico), estimated latitude and longitude, year, month, day, life stage (breeding, summering, wintering, migration, unknown), season (spring, summer, fall, winter), observer's name, and logical indicators of nesting, specimen taken, observer identified, or if captive bird. Completeness of each record is variable....
