These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. Digital surfaces and thicknesses of selected hydrogeologic units of the Floridan aquifer system were developed to define an updated hydrogeologic framework as part of the U.S. Geological Survey Groundwater Resources Program. This feature class contains points representing well cluster sites used to evaluate vertical head gradients in the aquifer system. Individual well identifiers are not show

The U.S. Geological Survey collected geomorphic monitoring data in cooperation with the Upper Colorado River Wild and Scenic Stakeholder Group. This data release contains cross-section geometry and sediment-size distribution data collected from five sites on the Upper Colorado River, Colorado during April 6-8, 2022. The five sites selected for monitoring were located at the Pumphouse Recreation Area, Radium Recreation Site, State Bridge, above Catamount, and below Sweetwater Creek. A cross section was surveyed at each site using real-time kinematic Global Navigation Satellite System survey methods to document the channel geometry. All five cross sections are incorporated in this data release and presented in CSV...

Geomorphology monitoring sites at 15 locations along the Roanoke River in Salem and Roanoke, Virginia, represented riffle or pool habitats and were designed to facilitate repeated measuring at the same cross section over time. Local bench marks were installed at each site to provide both horizontal and vertical control. At a minimum, each site had two bench marks (designated BM) and two transect control marks (designated TC) that were tied together through a static survey-grade Global Positioning System (GPS) survey to establish control to the nearest centimeter. Annual cross-section topographic surveys were conducted during summer low-flow periods at the 15 geomorphology monitoring sites using a total station from...

This digital dataset was created as part of a U.S. Geological Survey hydrologic resource assessment and development of an integrated numerical hydrologic model of the hydrologic system of the Upper Colorado River Basin, an extensive region covering approximately 412,000 square kilometers in five states: Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. As part of this larger study, the USGS developed this digital dataset of geologic data and a three-dimensional hydrogeologic framework model (3D HFM) that define the elevation, thickness, and extent of seven hydrogeologic units in the Upper Colorado River Basin. The hydrogeologic setting of the Colorado Plateau consists of thick Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic aquifers,...

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This digital dataset defines the traces of geologic and hydrogeologic cross sections that were used in the construction of a digital three-dimensional (3D) hydrogeologic framework model (HFM) of the Death Valley regional ground-water flow system (DVRFS). The HFM represents the geometry and extent of hydrogeologic units and major structures in an approximately 45,000 square-kilometer region of southern Nevada and California. The HFM...
