This simple assessment layer is used to answer management questions (MQs) about which high biodiversity sites (HBS) will experience significant climate change in the near future scenario in the Mojave Basin and Range Ecoregion. This is a basic intersect of areas that will likely experience significant climate change effects with the areas that have been identified by previous 3rd party analyses as having extraordinary biodiversity. It does not model actual response or condition of the HBS to climate change. Nearly all HBS in the ecoregion will experience significant effects according to the criteria that were selected. The climate space trends data layer was used to ascertain areas of significant climate changes....

A region polygon dataset categorizing land in terms of ecological significance and status of protection in the Central Basin and Range (CBR) Rapid Ecoregional Assessment. This dataset identifies lands that have been identified as ecologically significant to biodiveristy but not yet legally protected (Places I - Sites of High Biodiversity), lands that have some type of protection status, often federal or state (Places II - Specially Designated Areas of Ecological and/or Cultural Value), and lands that may be ecologically significant but are managed for multiple use (Places III – Other Managed Lands).

Some of the YKL rasters intentionally do not align or have the same extent. These rasters were not snapped to a common raster per the authors' discretion. Please review selected rasters prior to use. These varying alignments are a result of the use of differing source data sets and all products derived from them. We recommend that users snap or align rasters as best suits their own projects. - Fishing and hunting are essential parts of local livelihoods. Subsistence forms a substantial part of the household and community economy in the region. A large majority of the population in remote rural Alaska depends substantially on subsistence to supplement their wages. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game conducts annual...

This model provides one view of ecological integrity for the ecoregion, based on a model of near-future landscape condition, which has been summed into the 4x4km grid cells. Anthropogenic stressors come in many forms, from regional patterns of acid deposition or climate-induced ecosystem change, to local-scale patterns in agricultural drainage ditches and tiles, point-source pollution, land-conversion, and transportation corridors, among others. To be effective, a landscape condition model needs to incorporate multiple stressors, their varying individual intensities, the combined and cumulative effect of those stressors, and if possible, some measure of distance away from each stressor where negative effects remain...

The Quartz Valley Indian Reservation will partner with tribes, federal agencies and higher education institutions in the Klamath Basin on a tribal youth intern program for the summer of 2014. This program will build on current efforts to integrate western science and TEK for climate change planning and adaptation in the Klamath Basin.

This report provides detailed (1:63,360-scale) mapping of the Tanana A-1 and A-2 quadrangles (500 square miles; equivalent to eight 7.5-minute quadrangles). The area is part of the Manley Hot Springs-Tofty mining districts and adjacent to the Rampart mining district to the south of the Tanana B-1 Quadrangle. This report includes detailed bedrock, surficial, structural, and stratigraphic data. Based on the resulting geologic maps, field investigations, and laboratory materials analyses, the report also includes derivative maps of geologic construction materials and geologic hazards. The Tanana A-1 and A-2 Quadrangles and surrounding area comprise several isolated mountainous ridges in the western Yukon-Tanana Upland...

Researchers at NC State University have been funded by the US DOI Southeast Climate Science Center to help the National Park Service plan for adapting cultural resources under changing climate conditions. Dr. Sandra Fatorić, Post-Doctoral Research Scholar, and Dr. Erin Seekamp, Associate Professor and Tourism Extension Specialist, focused their efforts on the Cape Lookout National Seashore, located on a 56-mile long chain of barrier islands on the North Carolina coast, as their study site.
