This soil mapping application displays interactive national maps of soil series extents based on the land area of mapped soils. The information presented has been created from a snapshot of data extracted from the Soil Data Mart and Soil Classification File Database. Due to the update interval and certain assumptions made when assembling the data, these maps are suited for general information exploration and not intended for site-specific investigations. Questions concerning detailed local soil resources should be directed to your local Natural Resources Conservation Service.

This dataset represents soils of Wyoming at 1:100,000- scale. The layer contains 350 separate soils descriptions across 23 Wyoming counties. The layer was compiled based on the five-factor soil forming model using digital surficial geology, bedrock geology, and elevation. This dataset will be more fully documented in 23 AES publications scheduled for completion in winter of 99/00. These publications will use the designation AES Bulletin B-1071 followed by a two letter abreviation for each county.

This dataset represents soils of Wyoming at 1:500,000- scale. The layer contains 45 separate soils descriptions across 10 Wyoming soil zones. The layer was compiled based on the five-factor soil forming model using digital surficial geology, bedrock geology, and elevation. This dataset is documented in the report: Munn, L.C. and C.S. Arneson, 1998. Soils of Wyoming: A Digital Statewide Map at 1:500,000-Scale. Agricultural Experiment Station Report B-1069. University of Wyoming, College of Agriculture, Laramie, Wyoming.

The Nebraska Geospatial Data Center provides internet access to a wide variety of geospatial databases developed and/or maintained by various state, federal and local government agencies, academic institutions, and private entities. It is a one-stop enterprise portal for on-line searching, accessing, displaying and mapping available geo-data relating to the geographic area of Nebraska. The Center has created a unified enterprise-wide metadata clearinghouse and developed a web-based metadata submission site for the State. The online entry of metadata facilitates ongoing publication of metadata into the clearinghouse. The metadata entry contains descriptive information about the specific geo-data and is structured...

This dataset has been modified from its original version. the original aglands layer described below was modified by erasing the irrigated lands (2007) produced by the Wyoming Water Development Commission, resulting in a representation of dryland Agriculture in Wyoming. NOTE: this data was modeled as noted below, and should be used with caution. "This dataset represents croplands of Wyoming as interpreted from 1:58,200-scale National High Altitude Program (NHAP) color infrared aerial photography. The photos, which were taken in 1980-1982, were interpreted and land use designations were hand-drawn onto plots produced at the same scale as the photos, using a light table. Valid polygons include irrigated croplands,...

This data contains fences within the southwest portion of Wyoming at a 1:100,000 scale. A two and one-half year inventory of fences on federal lands was conducted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) from 1990 to 1992. The attribute fields describe the type of fences, the 30 x 60- minute quadrangle map which they are found, the ownership of the land, the year the fence was built, and their location according to township, range and section.

The Water Resources Data System is a clearinghouse of hydrological and climatological data for the State of Wyoming. The Climatology Data consists of queryable roadway weather information through the Wyoming DOT; tables and graphs of monthly precipitation normals and totals by water year; and maps and graphs of percent snow equivelants from the NRCS.

GeoCommunicator is a website and ESRI Image Mapping Service (IMS) (www.geocommunicator.gov) for cadastral survey and land management information and data from the National Integrated Land System. The website provides distribution of Public Land Survey System (PLSS), other survey-based data, and the federal surface management agency boundaries. Land and mineral use record information, mining claims, and conveyances from the BLM's LR2000 system can be accessed and mapped through the geocommunicator IMS.

The photos, which were taken in 1980-1982, were interpreted and land use designations were hand-drawn onto plots produced at the same scale as the photos, using a light table. The plots were then digitized as polygons into ARC/INFO 7.0.2. Valid polygons include irrigated croplands, non-irrigated croplands, urban lands, golf-courses, and non-agricultural lands.
