This data release consists of point data digitized from structural geologic orientation symbols consisting of mostly foliations and lineations. The data comes from primarily Proterozoic aged rocks in the eastern-central Rocky Mountain Front Range of Colorado. Compilation of the data is from twenty-three geologic maps published by the U.S. Geological Survey and the Colorado Geological Survey between 1964 and 2009, primarily using 7.5-minute, 1:24,000 scale quadrangles. This dataset represents the cumulative result of multi-season classification of land cover in the GCPO LCC geography to NatureServe Ecological Systems based on 2011 seasonal Landsat Satellite Imagery. We developed a composite land cover approach for use in the GCPO LCC ecological assessment of upland hardwood woodlands and forests. These datasets reflect the upland hardwood “mask” that represents the composite of 3 or 4 datasets, from which the remaining landscape endpoints defined in the LCC Integrated Science Agenda will be evaluated. The mask indicates where on the landscape we estimate upland hardwood woodlands and forests to be found in any condition. These layers represent estimates of imputed tree density calculated as part of the ecological assessment of upland hardwood systems. The GCPO Integrated Science Agenda targets tree densities of around 40 trees/acre for upland hardwood woodland systems and around 80 trees/acre for upland hardwood forest systems. Surveys of the bathymetry and backscatter intensity of the sea floor of the Historic Area Remediation Site (HARS), offshore of New York and New Jersey, were carried out in 1996, 1998, and 2000 using a Simrad EM1000 multibeam echosounder mounted on the Canadian Coast Guard ship Frederick G. Creed. The objective of the multiple echosounder surveys was to map the bathymetry and surficial sediments over time as dredged material was placed in the HARS to remediate contaminated sediments. The Harrat Rahat volcanic field, located in the west-central part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is the largest of 15 harrats (Arabic for 'volcanic field') hosted within the Arabian plate. Harrat Rahat is 50 to 75 km wide (east-west) and 300 km long (north-south), covering an area of approximately 20,000 square kilometers and encompassing more than 900 observable vents. The overall map area and its dataset show the volcanic geology of the northern part (about 3,340 square kilometers) of Harrat Rahat, at a scale of 1:75,000.
