The U.S. Geological Survey collected groundwater samples from 38 wells used for domestic and small system drinking water supply in the Coachella Valley of California in 2020. The wells were sampled for the Coachella Valley Basin (CODA) Domestic Aquifer Study Unit of the California State Water Resources Control Board Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment (GAMA) Program Priority Basin Project’s assessment of the quality of groundwater resources used for domestic and small system drinking water supplies. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District and Fort Bend Subsidence District, constructed a finite-difference numerical groundwater-flow model of the northern Gulf Coast aquifer region for 1897 through 2018 using MODFLOW 6 with the Newton formulation solver to simulate groundwater flow and land-surface subsidence. Spatial datasets include 1) a shapefile of 130 equal-area grid cells with associated arsenic attribute data, and 2) a shapefile of 110 equal-area grid cells with associated uranium attribute data. Resource managers and users seek information that can be used to balance the needs of competing uses of groundwater and streamflow in the Heeia watershed, Oahu. A previously constructed steady-state numerical groundwater-flow model for the island of Oahu, Hawaii (https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20205126) using MODFLOW-2005 with the Seawater Intrusion (SWI2) package was used to examine the effects of withdrawals in the watershed. These contours represent static groundwater levels based on depth-to-water measurements made at 165 monitoring wells during water years 2016-2020 in Smith Valley and Mason Valley, Nevada. For each monitoring well, the median groundwater-level altitude during the five-year period (2016-2020) was used for developing the groundwater-level contours. Depth-to-water measurements were collected by the USGS and the Nevada Division of Water Resources (NDWR).

A sensitivity analysis of groundwater-recharge estimates from a water-budget model was completed for the islands of Oahu and Maui, Hawaii (Johnson and others, 2023). Results of the sensitivity analysis were used to quantify the relative importance of selected model parameters to recharge estimates for three moisture zones (dry, mesic, and wet) on Oahu and Maui. These shapefiles contain the boundaries of the moisture zones and boundaries of the model subareas that were used in the model simulations for Oahu and Maui. This data release contains water level data and analytical results from slug tests performed at 12 wells at Badger Army Ammunition Plant (BAAP), Sauk County, Wisconsin. Water-level data, representing the displacement and recovery of groundwater levels with time in wells during slug tests, are provided in comma delimited files. Analytical results are provided in AQUTESOLV files (*.aqt files) and *.pdf summary files. This dataset is a raster surface, in feet, of the depth to water, spring 2016, Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer (MRVA). The raster cell size is 1,000 meters (3,280.8 ft). . The raster was interpolated using (1) depth-to-water (GW_D2W) data from wells and (2) an assumed value of zero for depth to water at streamgages (SW_D2W) because the precise depth to groundwater at the streamgage is not known. The streamgage data is used only when it appears the regional aquifer and surface water are hydrologically connected.

This data release contains model simulation results of a particle tracking analysis to delineate areas that provide recharge to surface waters and public-supply wells on Long Island, NY. The analysis partitions the recharge areas based on particle travel times of greater than or less than 10 years to reach the receiving surface water or well. Digitized field boundaries were used to locate crops for in situ verification twice in 2022; crop verification occurred first on May 17th and again on August 26th. This dataset contains surface-water-altitude (SWA) data from streamgages that was used or considered to create a potentiometric-surface map for the Mississippi River Valley alluvial (MRVA) aquifer for spring 2018. This dataset contains the contours, in feet, of the potentiometric-surface, spring 2020, Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer (MRVA). The contours are referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88). The contours were derived from most of the available groundwater-altitude (GWA) data from wells and surface-water-altitude (SWA) data from streamgages, measured in for spring 2020.
