This data release provides the locations and certain key metrics of landslide features offshore southern California, including landslide perimeters, scarps, evacuation zones, debris aprons, and slide-prone areas in geographic information system (GIS) shapefile format. The offshore region of southern California is a tectonically active area that includes more than 20 fault-bounded basins and ridges that are subject to various types of mass-wasting and landslide processes. The collection of high-resolution seafloor mapping data offshore southern California, mostly within the last 25 years, provide a new data set that forms the basis for the identification and mapping of landslides and slide-related features throughout...

The U.S. Geological Survey, California Volcano Observatory (CalVO) in collaboration with the State of California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services and the California Geological Survey, are working to understand the State’s exposure to volcanic hazards by integrating volcanic hazard information with geospatial data on at-risk populations, infrastructure, and resources. These data are from the geospatial analysis of the assets against volcano hazard zones (near vent, lava flow, lahar, flood, and ash fall) for California volcanoes ranked as Moderate, High, or Very High Threat in the US Geological Survey's 2005 report entitled “Volcanic Threat and Monitoring Capabilities in the United States” available on-line...

A comprehensive map of Quaternary faults has been generated for offshore of California. The Quaternary fault map includes mapped geometries and attribute information for offshore fault systems located in California State and Federal waters. The polyline shapefile and matching KML file have been compiled from previously published mapping where relatively dense, high-resolution marine geophysical data exist. The data are accompanied by a PDF containing citations for the compiled source data. Most of the marine geophysical data used for mapping have been processed, merged, and released by the USGS in maps, data releases, and journal publications in support of the California Seafloor Mapping Program and the U.S. West...
The dataset contains hazard-exposure estimates of FY2020 Federal Real Property Profile (FRPP) data to 100-year and 500-year flood-hazard zones for the years 2022 and 2052. Flow depths for each of the four hazard zones were estimated for every FRPP record using geospatial analysis. Results include raw values for estimated flow depths in centimeters and bin values on a -1 to 5 scale. Flood-hazard zones were available for the conterminous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. FRRP data records were limited to government-owned buildings and structures for all identified property uses, except for records identified as "navigation aids (other than buildings)."
