Ecoregions denote areas of general similarity in ecosystems and in the type, quality, and quantity of environmental resources. They are designed to serve as a spatial framework for the research, assessment, management, and monitoring of ecosystems and ecosystem components. These general purpose regions are critical for structuring and implementing ecosystem management strategies across federal agencies, state agencies, and nongovernment organizations that are responsible for different types of resources within the same geographical areas. The approach used to compile this map is based on the premise that ecological regions can be identified through the analysis of patterns of biotic and abiotic phenomena, including...

This shapefile was developed in a project that identified areas with potential habitat for priority amphibian and reptile species or that likely support a noteworthy diversity of reptile or amphibian species in the North Atlantic Landscape Conservation Cooperative (http://nalcc.databasin.org/pages/about-north-atlanticlcc) and Northeast Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (northeastparc.org) regions. Our approach spatially applied the Priority Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Area (PARCA) System Criteria and Implementation Guidelines (PARCA Guidance; Sutherland and deMaynadier 2012) to combine amphibian and reptile species occurrence data and spatial environmental variables to predict and map habitat...

The Tokio Formation in southwestern Arkansas, hereafter referred to as the Tokio aquifer, is a source of groundwater for agricultural, domestic, industrial, and public use in Clark, Hempstead, Little River, Miller, Nevada, and Pike counties. Water-level altitudes measured 42 wells completed in the Tokio aquifer during 2014 and 2015 were used to create a potentiometric-surface map. In southwestern Arkansas, potentiometric surfaces indicate that groundwater flow in the Tokio aquifer is towards the city of Hope. Northwest of the city of Hope, a cone of depression may exist. In southwestern Pike, northwestern Nevada, and northeastern Hempstead Counties, an area of artesian flow (water levels are at or above land surface)...

This item has two datasets which provide information over the entire CCE: 1. MPB_AB_5kmBuffer_2000.shp: Mountain Pine Beetle (MPB) disturbance in the Alberta portion of the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem from 2001 to 2007. This layer is a compilation from multiple sources. These data are used to help focus ground survey work and are not 100% accurate. 2. MPB_CCE_5kmBuffer_2000: This layer represents polygons within and up to 5km outside the British Columbia and Montana portions of the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem with groupings of dead (red) pine trees which indicate a high likelihood of green attack mountain pine beetle trees from 2001 to 2007. The current beetle year (August 15 to August 15) Mountain Pine...

This point shapefile approximates locations within 20 km of the North Pacific Coastline, as defined by the "World Country Boundaries (Generalized)" shapefile distributed by ESRI as part of their Data & Maps data series. They are based on raster data at 4 km resolution. Therefore there are between 3-5 points extending out from each location along the shoreline (at 4 km intervals).

The basin boundaries available here are derived from the Geospatial Fabric for National Hydrologic Modeling (Viger and Bock, 2014). The Geopspatial Fabric provides a consistent, documented, and topologically connected set of spatial features that create an abstracted stream/basin network of features useful for hydrologic modeling. The GIS vector features contained in this Geospatial Fabric (GF) data set cover the lower 48 U.S. states, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Four GIS feature classes are provided for each Region: 1) the Region outline ("one"), 2) Points of Interest ("POIs"), 3) a routing network ("nsegment"), and 4) Hydrologic Response Units ("nhru"). A graphic showing the boundaries for all Regions is provided...

HEM events were created from fish screens, stream gages, and surface water diversions within the Lemhi SubBasin in Idaho. Data was gathered from the following sources: Idaho Fish and Game, Idaho Power, Idaho Water Engineering, and Idaho Water Resources Water Rights. The data assembled represented fish screens, water withdrawals from the stream, and flow gauging stations.
