The Aquatic Core Networks, Unstratified is comprised of unstratified versions of Lotic Core Areas and Lentic Core Areas. These datasets are one of two versions of aquatic core areas that are part of a suite of products from Nature’s Network (naturesnetwork.org). Nature’s Network is a collaborative effort to identify shared priorities for conservation in the Northeast, considering the value of fish and wildlife species and the natural areas they inhabit. Although the stratified version “Aquatic Core Networks” is considered by the planning team to be the primary version for users, this unstratified version is also made available for reference and use. These and other datasets that augment or complement the Aquatic...

The Hydrology Polygon Feature Class defines areas of open water features on RSL. The polygon feature class is composed of National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) Plus Polygons and where the NHD Plus layer was insufficient, water bodies were digitized from 2010 National Agricultural Inventory Program (NAIP) 10 meter aerial imagery.

The polygon feature class is composed of National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) Plus Polygons and where the NHD Plus layer was insufficient, water bodies were digitized from 2010 National Agricultural Inventory Program (NAIP) 1 meter aerial imagery. Areas of open water are known to fluctuate based on rainfall and other factors, and therefore this dataset may not be accurate for other time periods.

This dataset is a component of a complete package of products from the Connect the Connecticut project. Connect the Connecticut is a collaborative effort to identify shared priorities for conserving the Connecticut River Watershed for future generations, considering the value of fish and wildlife species and the natural ecosystems they inhabit. Click here to download the full data package, including all documentation. These datasets represent aquatic core areas and aquatic buffers, in combination with terrestrial cores and connectors they spatially represent the ecological network derived from the CTR LCD project. Lotic cores: This set of lotic (river and stream) core areas, in combination with the lotic cores...

Connect the Connecticut is a collaborative effort to identify shared priorities for conserving the Connecticut River Watershed for future generations, considering the value of fish and wildlife species and the natural ecosystems they inhabit. Click here to download the full data package, including all documentation. This dataset represents the aquatic vulnerability to development index, which reflects the likelihood of development occurring in places in the uplands that are likely to impact the aquatic cores. Specifically, aquatic vulnerability is the product of the aquatic buffers, which represent the areas estimated...
