This polygon feature class represents the spatial extent and boundaries for BLM Grazing Allotments. This dataset is a subset of the official national dataset, containing features and attributes intended for public release and has been optimized for online map service performance. The Implementation Guide represents the official national dataset from which this dataset was derived. This dataset presents grazing allotments (from BLM and USFS) within the context of current and near-term terrestrial intactness and long-term potential for energy development and potential for climate change (4KM reporting units). Current terrestrial intactness is based on current measures of landscape development, fire regime and vegetation impacts, and fragmentation. Near-term intactness includes estimates of urban growth and expansion of invasive vegetation. Long-term potential for energy development is based on areas of potential for wind, solar, and petroleum development derived from multiple sources. Long-term potential for climate change is based on absolute changes in runoff, precipitation, temperature,...

The RMU_UNIT feature class depicts the boundaries of the range allotments, general resource areas, and wild horse and burro territories on the Prescott National Forest and is part of the USFS Southwestern Region Core Data Project. This project is designed to generate and maintain 15 vertically integrated resource data layers which are standardized across the Southwestern Region. These 15 layers are derived from a Master Arc coverage which maintains vertical integration. The RMU_UNIT feature class depicts the boundaries of the range allotments, general resource areas, and wild horse and burro territories on the Prescott National Forest and is part of the USFS Southwestern Region Core Data Project. This dataset shows special designations within the ecoregion. These include protected areas (from CBI Protected Areas Database) with GAP status 1 or 2 (generally, highly protected lands), conservation easements, and roadless areas. This dataset includes a few additional features not yet publicly available in the official version of the CBI Protected Areas Database. These features were specifically added to this dataset for use in the BLM REA in advance of the regular update cycle of that dataset.

The BLM manages rangelands throughout the west for the use of wildlife and livestock. The rangelands are divided into allotments and pastures for management purposes.

This data set contains habitat potential based on the percentage of cropland for the Greater Sage-Grouse in the Northwestern Plains Ecoregion. This data set contains reclassified GAP landcover types. Cropland was extracted and a moving window analysis was run to determine the percentage of cropland. Moving window for analysis was 8.5 km radius, approximately the size of Breeding Bird Density 75% circles. Output was extracted to combination of Breeding Bird Density 75% circles and Schroeder Distribution model. Values were then reclassified to categorical values based on key ecological attributes table.

Created by merging the updated shapefiles returned by each field office and selecting out the areas defined for sheep/goat use. The original shapefiles sent to each field office for review were generated by selecting out the billed allotments, billed pastures, or pastures billed as allotments that overlapped bighorn sheep occupied habitat in each field office.

Roads, mines, alternative energy layers were combined and the distance from the Wild Horse and Burro herd management area was calculated using a 4km analysis unit.

mammal species, this map shows their current and near-term status within the ecoregion. Current, long-term, and summary bioclimate data is also include for several of these mammal species. The input datasets used in the distribution model are also included. These data are provided by Bureau of Land Management (BLM) "as is" and may contain errors or omissions. The User assumes the entire risk associated with its use of these data and bears all responsibility in determining whether these data are fit for the User's intended use. These data may not have the accuracy, resolution, completeness, timeliness, or other characteristics appropriate for applications that potential users of the data may contemplate. The User...

This simple assessment raster is used to answer management questions (MQs) about where change agents (CAs) overlap with sensitive soils (SS) in the Central Great Basin and Range ecoregion. This is a basic footprint assessment of anthropogenic features (urban development, roads, etc) intersect with the areas that were modeled by NatureServe to represent nine types of sensitive soils. It does not model actual response or condition of the SS to the CAs. The data intersects two primary classes of information: The CAs consist of 19 classes which represent different types of human infrastructure on the landscape. Some types are easily defined, precise footprints (pipelines, roads, energy development areas) while others...

This geodatabase of point, line and polygon features is an effort to consolidate all of the range improvement locations on BLM-managed land in Idaho into one database. Currently, the point feature class only has range improvements from Boise District (Four Rivers, Owyhee, and Bruneau Field Offices), Twin Falls District (Shoshone, Burley and Jarbidge Field Offices) and Idaho Falls District (Salmon, Challis and Upper Snake Field Offices). Range improvements are structures intended to enhance rangeland resources, including wildlife, watershed, and livestock management. Examples of range improvements include water troughs, spring headboxes, culverts, fences, water pipelines, gates, wildlife guzzlers, artificial nest...

The US Department of Interior’s (USDI) Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a long history of soil and vegetation monitoring of public rangelands it manages. However, historical monitoring data have been stored and managed at the field, district, or state level, making them difficult to compile and analyze. BLM’s Soil Vegetation Inventory Method (hereafter SVIM) program occurred between 1977 and 1983 in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming. Our objective was to extract and decode vegetation cover data from the SVIM dataset in a georeferenced, digital format. Vegetation cover data are available for 22,578 SVIM site write-up areas in nine states. The wide geographic...

The GIS shapefile "Extra limit counts of southern sea otters 2018" is a point layer representing the locations of sea otter sightings that fall outside the officially recognized range of the southern sea otter (Enhydra lutris nereis) in mainland California. These data were collected during the spring 2018 range-wide census. The USGS range-wide sea otter census has been undertaken each year since 1982, using consistent methodology involving both ground-based and aerial-based counts. The spring census provides the primary basis for gauging population trends by State and Federal management agencies. Sea otter distribution in California (the mainland range) is considered to comprise a band of potential habitat stretching...

This service contains layers based on Geographic Coordinate Data Base (GCDB) coordinate data. The locations of Public Land Survey System (PLSS) corners, as represented in geographic coordinate pairs, were derived from a variety of source documents, which include U.S. General Land Office and BLM survey plats/notes, as well as survey data obtained from other U.S. Government agencies, private sector survey firms, and local governments. Please review the data disclaimer at http://www.geocommunicator.gov/Geocomm/GC_disclaimer.shtm

This data set contains the Public Land Survey System at the QQ level covering much of the western United States. The data is primarily derived from USGS 7.5 - minute topographic maps, with BLM GCDB as a secondary source.
