This USGS data release is intended to provide a baselayer of information on likely stream crossings throughout the United States. The geopackage provides likely crossings of infrastructure and streams and provides observed information that helps validate modeled crossings and build knowledge about associated conditions through time (e.g. crossing type, crossing condition). Stream crossings were developed by intersecting the 2020 United States Census Bureau Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (TIGER) U.S. road lines with the National Hydrography Dataset High Resolution flowlines. The current version of this data release specifically focuses on road stream crossings (i.e. TIGER2020 Roads)...

This data release contains a comma-delimited ascii file of 15 discrete discharge measurements made at sites along selected reaches of He'eia Stream and 'Ioleka'a Stream, O'ahu, Hawai'i, on March 23, 2022. These discrete discharge measurements form what is commonly referred to as a "seepage run." The intent of the seepage run is to quantify the spatial distribution of streamflow along the reach during fair-weather, low-flow conditions, generally characterized by negligible direct runoff within the reach. The measurements can be used to characterize the net seepage of water into or out of the stream channel between measurement sites, provided that the measurements were made during stable, nonchanging flow conditions...

Digital flood-inundation maps for a 12.6-mile reach of the Withlacoochee River from Skipper Bridge Road to St. Augustine Road, Lowndes County, Georgia, were created by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the city of Valdosta and Lowndes County, Georgia. The inundation maps, which can be accessed through the USGS Flood Inundation Mapping Science Web site at http://water.usgs.gov/osw/flood_inundation/, depict estimates of the areal extent and depth of flooding corresponding to selected water levels (stages) at the USGS streamgage Withlacoochee River at Skipper Bridge Road, near Bemiss, Georgia (023177483). Real-time stage information from this streamgage can be obtained at the National Water Information...

The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the California Department of Water Resources (DWR), has constructed a new spatially distributed Precipitation-Runoff Modeling System (PRMS) for the Merced River Basin (Koczot and others, 2021), which is a tributary of the San Joaquin River in California. PRMS is a deterministic, distributed-parameter, physical-process-based modeling system developed to evaluate the response of streamflow and basin hydrology to various combinations of climate and land use (Markstrom and others, 2015). Although further refinement may be required to apply the Merced PRMS for official streamflow forecast operations, this application of PRMS is calibrated with intention to simulate (and...

This table contains estimates for upland sediment erosion and delivery to the stream estimated using a modified Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation 2 (RUSLE2) approach (USDA-ARS, 2013). Upland erosion (Eu) was calculated as the sum of the product of the erosivity factor (Rm) estimated for each month, the soil erodibility factor (K), the length-slope factor (LS), C-factor (Cm) for each month, farming support practices (P) assumed to be 1, and the area of each land cover grouping in acres. Rasters with 10-m resolution were created for these five variables in the modified RUSLE2 equation to create an upland erosion (Eu) raster for the study area. Data were calculated for each National Hydrography (NHD) Dataset Version...

The digital flood-inundation maps included in this data release were developed for a 16.4-mile reach of the Yellow River from 0.5-mile upstream of River Drive to Centerville Highway (Georgia State Route 124), Gwinnett County, Georgia (Ga.) to depict estimates of the areal extent and depth of flooding corresponding to selected water levels (stages) at two U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages in the mapped area. The maps for the 9.0-mile reach from 0.5-mile upstream of River Drive to Stone Mountain Highway (US Route 78) are referenced to the Yellow River, near Snellville, Georgia (Ga.; station 02206500), and the maps for the 7.4-mile reach from Stone Mountain Highway to Centerville Highway are referenced to the...

Datasets used to quantify and value the ecosystem service of sediment and nutrient retention for floodplains within the Difficult Run watershed located in Fairfax County, Virginia. Geospatial datasets include a digital elevation model (DEM), a hydrologically conditioned DEM, output from the USGS Stream Channel and Floodplain Metric Toolbox, and field data sets used to develop regression models to predict sediment and nutrient retention services for stream within the Difficult Run watershed.

A machine learning streamflow (MLFLOW) model was developed in R (model is in the Rscripts folder) for modeling monthly streamflow from 2012 to 2017 in three watersheds on the Wyoming Range in the upper Green River basin. Geospatial information for 125 site features (vector data are in the Sites.shp file) and discrete streamflow observation data and environmental predictor data were used in fitting the MLFLOW model and predicting with the fitted model. Tabular calibration and validation data are in the Model_Fitting_Site_Data.csv file, totaling 971 discrete observations and predictions of monthly streamflow. Geospatial information for 17,518 stream grid cells (raster data are in the Streams.tif file) and environmental...
