Water surface elevations within seven Willamette River off-channel features (OCF; alcoves and side channels) were measured using submerged pressure transducers. Transducers were installed from late May through mid-October, 2016, when discharge of the Willamette River was between approximately 5,500 and 45,000 cubic feet per second at Salem, Oregon (USGS gage 14191000) and 3,500 to 17,500 cubic feet per second at Harrisburg, Oregon (USGS gage 14166000). Pressure transducer sensor depth was measured at all seven sites. For five of the sites, pressure transducer sensor depths were converted to water surface elevations by surveying the water surface at each transducer with a real-time kinematic global positioning system...

The RTK survey, using a Trimble unit, was conducted in August 2021 in the coastal plains region (1002 area) of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, as part of a landscape vulnerability assessment. A total of six transects are included in the data, including five research sites and one transect collected at the camp site. Mean horizontal precision was 0.006m, mean vertical precision was 0.011m.

Water-surface elevation measurements were collected in March 2015 along the upper Willamette River, Oregon, between Eugene to Corvallis. These surveys were collected over a small range of discharges using a real time kinematic global positioning system (RTK-GPS) on a motorboat traveling "on plane" along the river. These datasets were collected for equipment calibration and validation for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) satellite mission. This is one of multiple survey datasets that will be released for this effort.

River bathymetry surveys were collected in the summer and fall of 2016 along the lower Chetco River, Oregon. These surveys were collected using a real time kinematic global positioning system (RTK-GPS) and an echo sounder mounted on a motorboat and also behind a kayak at various cross sections and longitudinal profiles along the river. These datasets were collected in support of a funded effort investigating the cause of salt water intrusion that has taken place at the water intake facility for Harbor City, Oregon. The surveys were collected at sections approximately 0.4 river miles downstream to 0.8 river miles upstream of the Harbor City water intake structure and also at the city of Brookings water intake facility,...

Bathymetric data were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in 2019 for approximately 2.2 square kilometers of the Nehalem Bay between the Highway 101 bridge and Nehalem Bay State Park (about 6.5 kilometers) near Wheeler, Oregon. The data were collected using a Trimble R8 Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver combined with a Seafloor Systems Hydrolite TM single-beam 200 kilohertz echosounder mounted to a motorized boat. GPS positions received corrections in real time from the Oregon Real-Time GNSS Network. Sound velocity profiles were recorded at 19 different locations evenly spaced throughout the survey area using an AML Oceanographic Base X2 100 meter sound velocity profiler in order to quantify...
This project uses bottom-up modeling at a parcel scale to measure the effects of sea-level rise (SLR) on coastal ecosystems and tidal salt marshes. At selected tidal marshes, the project team will measure several parameters that will be incorporated into ArcGIS models creating comparable datasets across the Pacific coast tidal gradient with a focus on 2-4 sites in the California LCC (e.g. San Diego, San Francisco Bay Refuges). The ultimate goal is to provide science support tools for local adaptation planning from the bottom-up that may be implemented under a structured decision-making framework.Science Delivery Phase (2013): The objectives are to: (1) Disseminate site-specific baseline data and modeling results,...

River bathymetry measurements were collected in 2017 and 2018 along the Willamette River, Oregon, between Eugene and Newberg. These data were collected to complement a bathymetric lidar dataset collected in 2017 for the same section of river. In many deeper segments of the river channel, bathymetric lidar did not produce measurements of river bathymetry. To fill gaps in the bathymetric lidar dataset, USGS combined bathymetry data previously collected in 2015 and 2016 with newly collected survey data from 2017 and 2018. The bathymetric survey data acquired in 2017 and 2018 focused on filling gaps within the 2017 bathymetric lidar dataset. Bathymetry data were collected using a network based real time kinematic global...
