Tax district mapping is an important function of the Property Tax Division - Technical Services Group. The identification of tax districts aids in the mill levy process and helps counties redistribute tax funds more effectively.
In order to identify approaches for integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) plant optimization it is necessary to analyse where and why the losses in the process occur. Therefore a structured exergy analysis of an IGCC with carbon capture was performed to identify losses on a plant, subsystem and individual component level. The investigation of the IGCC base case revealed an exergetic efficiency of 40%. Thus, 60% of the whole fuel exergy is lost in the process. On the subsystem level it was found that the major loss contributor is the combined cycle followed by the gas treatment section and the gasification island. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that the significance of the losses is higher in upstream processes...

Population range for each city/town. pop_4: 10,001 - 100,000 U.S. Populated Place Points represents populated places with population projected for 2030 that include census designated places, consolidated cities, and incorporated places within United States identified by the U.S. Census Bureau.

This dataset contains values that represent travel time ((minutes per meter) x 100000) across TIGER 2010 roads, assuming travel at 65 mph for interstates, 55 mph for highways, 45 mph for secondary roads, 30 mph for local, and 10 mph for backcountry/4WD. The BLM Linear disturbance data were also used to modify travel time.

RecSitePoint gives point locations of recreation sites such as trailheads and campgrounds. Initially, the data were derived from points reviewed for the Recreation Sites Asset Management Plan in November 2005. Items in the attribute table are compliant with the June 30, 2004 GIS Data Dictionary. Updates are on-going. Control numbers can be used to link spatial data to records in INFRA.

This dataset depicts intensive recreation sites on land, compiled from multiple BLM and USFS sources. Sites include campgrounds, picnic areas, boat launches, and several other types of features. Due to a general lack of quality recreation site information, this dataset likely under-represents the distribution and density of recreation sites, and only contains recreation sites on public lands. Additional recreation sites likely occur on state, local, and privately-owned land, but no data were available at the time of this REA. Recreation sites may have varying areas of impact, as some recreation sites may be large campgrounds whereas other sites are highly localized, such as trailheads. Source datasets had highly...

This dataset provides an estimate of potential water-based recreation areas. No systematically-collected existing information was available regarding water-based recreation areas. We selected large (greater than 1 square kilometer) waterbodies from the NHD waterbodies dataset. Not all of these areas may be open to recreation due to restrictions on access; access information is not available. Smaller waterbodies may also be important for recreation, but were not included here due to lack of information.

Subsistence practices are closely linked to the natural cycles of the environment. Such practices include hunting, fishing, and gathering of various animal and plant species in the region. The majority of the population in remote rural Alaska depends substantially on subsistence to supplement their wages. Fishing and hunting are essential parts of local livelihoods in the North Slope study area. Subsistence forms a substantial part of the household and community economy in the region. Subsistence foods are a large part of household food consumption. According to the Survey of Living Conditions in the Arctic, subsistence foods make up between half and three-quarters of all food consumed by Alaska Native households....

This report presents updated information about subsistence uses of fish, wildlife, and plant resources in 5 communities of southcentral Alaska -- Iliamna, Newhalen, Nondalton, Pedro Bay, and Port Alsworth. The Division of Subsistence of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game conducted the study in collaboration with the National Park Service and Stephen R. Braund & Associates. The Pebble Project is a proposed open pit mine located 18 miles to the northwest of Iliamna and 18 miles southwest of Nondalton. The potential development of the mine requires updated baseline information about subsistence harvests and uses. Information was collected through systematic household surveys and mapping interviews. Scoping meetings...

This dataset shows potential for long-term energy development, which was evaluated using a fuzzy logic model. This model integrates factors describing potential for petroleum development, solar development, and wind development. Petroleum development was estimated using a 1.5 km buffer around oil and gas wells (similar to Dept. of Energy Oil Fields dataset in COP). Wind development was extracted from NREL estimates where potential wind class was 3 and above, combined with CA BLM wind energy projects. Solar development was extracted from NREL estimates where slopes were less than 1%, combined with BLM solar energy projects, BLM Restoration Design Energy Project areas, and BLM solar energy zones. Highly protected...
