These topographic/bathymetric digital elevation models (DEMs) were collected and compiled to characterize erosion and deposition in the Colorado River and in an adjacent zone of laterally recirculating flow (eddy) during both average flow conditions and during a controlled flood that occurred in March 2008. The objectives of the study were to measure changes sandbar morphology that occurred during changes in discharge associated with the controlled flood. These data were collected between February 6 and March 31, 2008 in a 1-mile study reach on the Colorado River within Grand Canyon National Park beginning 44.5 miles downstream from Lees Ferry, Arizona. These data were collected by the USGS Grand Canyon Monitoring...

High-precision (Real-time kinematic) Global Positioning System (GPS) surveys were conducted along the lower Rio Puerco in April 2002, January 2007, April 2010, and April 2014 to support a long-term study of geomorphic processes and the geomorphic history of the arroyo. The study reach extends from the confluence with the Rio San Jose 67 km downvalley to the old Highway 85 bridge near the USGS streamgage near Bernardo, NM. Individual shapefiles were created for data from each survey. Associated metadata files include the names of surveyors and equipment used. The survey extents varied, but all have overlapping points, including repeat surveys of arroyo cross sections. Results from analyses of these data were published...

This data release consists of the following components: Sex ratio data from cottonwood trees at random points on the floodplain in the North and South units of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, ND. These data were used to investigate the effects of age, height above, and distance from the channel on mortality of male and female trees of plains cottonwood (Populus deltoides subsp. monilifera) as described in the Friedman and Griffin (2017) report. Tree core and tree ring data from the North and South Units of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota. South Unit data was collected in April 2012, North Unit data was collected in the summer and fall of 2010. The trees are located on the floodplain of the Little...

Spatial reconnaissance of fluvial microcystins (MC) concentrations and select water-quality parameters, including nutrients and periphyton biomass, in 75 wadeable streams in the Piedmont region of the southeastern USA during 2014. Data set includes only those data specifically discussed in the associated journal article: Loftin, K.A., Clark, J.M., Journey, C.A., Kolpin, D.W., Van Metre, P.C., and Bradley, P.M., 2016, Spatial and temporal variation in microcystins occurrence in wadeable streams in the southeastern USA: Environmental Toxicology & Chemistry, http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/etc.3391.

The acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) data were collected and compiled to characterize the velocity patterns in channel of the Colorado River and in an adjacent zone of laterally recirculating flow (eddy). Topographic/bathymetric digital elevation models (DEMs) were collected and compiled to characterize erosion and deposition in the Colorado River and in an adjacent zone of laterally recirculating flow (eddy). Profiles of suspended-sediment concentration were also collected and compiled to characterize suspended sediment in the Colorado River. These datasets were collected during both average flow conditions and during a controlled flood that occurred in March 2008. Objectives of the study were to measure...
