The High Resolution National Hydrography Dataset Plus (NHDPlus HR) is an integrated set of geospatial data layers, including the best available National Hydrography Dataset (NHD), the 10-meter 3D Elevation Program Digital Elevation Model (3DEP DEM), and the National Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD). The NHDPlus HR combines the NHD, 3DEP DEMs, and WBD to create a stream network with linear referencing, feature naming, "value added attributes" (VAAs), elevation-derived catchments, and other features for hydrologic data analysis. The stream network with linear referencing is a system of data relationships applied to hydrographic systems so that one stream reach "flows" into another and "events" can be tied to and traced...

The United States Geological Survey’s (USGS) SPAtially Referenced Regressions On Watershed attributes (SPARROW) model was developed to aid in the interpretation of monitoring data and simulate water-quality conditions in streams across large spatial scales. SPARROW is a hybrid empirical⁄process-based mass balance model that can be used to estimate the major sources and environmental factors that affect the long-term supply, transport, and fate of contaminants in streams. The spatially explicit model structure is defined by a river reach network coupled with contributing catchments. The model is calibrated by statistically relating watershed sources and transport-related properties to monitoring-based water-quality...

Estimates of various low-flow statistics were computed at 51 ungaged stream locations throughout New Jersey during the 2018 water year using methods in the published reports, Streamflow Characteristics and Trends in New Jersey, Water Years 1897-2003 (Watson and others, 2005) and Implementation of MOVE.1, Censored MOVE.1, and Piecewise MOVE.1 Low-Flow Regressions with Applications at Partial-Record Streamgages in New Jersey (Colarullo and others, 2018). The estimates are computed as needed for use in water resources permitting, assessment, and management by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The data release includes the stream name, location, method of estimation, drainage area, and intended...

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This digital dataset contains 61 sets of annual streamflow gains and losses between 1961 and 1977 along Central Valley surface-water network for the Central Valley Hydrologic Model (CVHM). The Central Valley encompasses an approximate 50,000 square-kilometer region of California. The complex hydrologic system of the Central Valley is simulated using the USGS's numerical modeling code MODFLOW-FMP (Schmid and others, 2006). This simulation...

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This arc and point data set contains streamflow-measurement sites and reaches indicating streamflow gain or loss under base-flow conditions along the Republican River and tributaries in Nebraska during October 20 to 21, 1980 (U.S. Geological Survey, 1982). The streamflow measurements were made to obtain data on ground-water/surface-water interaction. Flow was observed visually to be zero, was measured, or was estimated at 118 sites....

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release contains the code, data, executables, and other information necessary to run the application Unit Flows in Networks of Channels (UFINCH). The UFINCH application is a computer code that utilizes the geospatial stream connectivity and catchment geometry described in National Hydrography Dataset Plus value added attributes (NHDPlus Version 2) to simulate unit (15-minute) flows in networks of channels, generally by use of daily flows at the most downstream stream segment in a basin at which a USGS streamgage is located. Preliminary testing indicates that UFINCH may be most applicable for simulating unregulated, non-estuarial, flows in basins as large as 3,000 square miles...
