The Bushy Park Reservoir is a relatively shallow impoundment in a semi-tropical climate and is the principal water supply for the 400,000 people of the City of Charleston and the surrounding areas including the industries in the Bushy Park Industrial Complex. Although there is an adequate supply of freshwater in the reservoir, there are taste-and-odor water-quality concerns. Digital flood-inundation maps for an 8-mile (mi) reach of the Huron River from downstream of Rickett Road to Strawberry Lake, Michigan, were created by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with Green Oak and Hamburg Townships, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The flood-inundation maps also include a 1.16-mi reach of the Ore Lake Tributary until it joins the Huron River, approximately 2.22 mi downstream of Rickett Road. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center, in cooperation with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, updated basin-characteristic data for Oklahoma streams with drainage areas of less than 2,510 square miles. Basin characteristics were updated or created for 248 streamgages. The previously published Oklahoma generalized skew map, a necessary element in the development of the peak-streamflow frequencies was updated. Digital grids that represent the depth of flood waters for an 8.8-mile reach of the North Platte River, from 1.5 miles upstream of the Highway 92 bridge to 3 miles downstream of the Highway 71 bridge, were created by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Cities of Scottsbluff and Gering. This dataset contains modeled hourly streamflow at each about eighteen thousand selected operational and water quality stream gage locations. It was assembled from publicly available retrospective and operational V1.2 National Water Model outputs. The streamflow variable was extracted from model output files and the data were reshaped to optimize read performance. The stream gage locations were derived from several ongoing USGS projects using gages for evaluation of streamflow, water quality, and real-time monitoring however only National Water Model identifiers and NHDPlus catchment outlet locations are used to identify model results.
