Interannual differences in the water quality of Anvil Lake, WI, were examined to determine how water level and climate affect the hydrodynamics and trophic state of shallow lakes, and their importance compared to anthropogenic changes in the watershed. To determine how changes in water level may affect these processes, the General Lake Model (GLM) was used to simulate how the lake’s thermal structure should change in response to changes in water level using R. This dataset includes the data inputs to the GLM model and the direct outputs from the model. Model Calibration (GLM_CalibrationZ); Simulation of with Deep Lake and Cold Weather (GLM_Deep_Cold_SimulationZ); Simulation of with Deep Lake and Hot Weather (GLM_Deep_Hot_SimulationZ);...
LUCAS-W is a scenario-based simulation model of coupled land use change and associated water demand for California's Central Coast region from 2001-2061. The model is a verison of the LUCAS model, which uses the SyncroSim software framework (Software documentation available at http://doc.syncrosim.com/index.php?title=Reference_Guide), that contains a new coupling with statistical software R (https://www.r-project.org/) to enable dynamic feedbacks between land-use change, resulting water demand, and water availability. The model was parameterized with land-use change and water use empirically estimated from county-scale historic data, as well as results from dozens of local agencies’ groundwater modeling efforts....

This data release includes representative cluster profiles (RCPs) from a large (>24,000) selection of coral reef topobathymetric cross-shore profiles (Scott and others, 2020). We used statistics, machine learning, and numerical modelling to develop the set of RCPs, which can be used to accurately represent the shoreline hydrodynamics of a large variety of coral reef-lined coasts around the globe. In two stages, the data were reduced by clustering cross-shore profiles based on morphology and hydrodynamic response to typical wind and swell wave conditions. By representing a large variety of coral reef morphologies with a reduced number of RCPs, a computationally feasible number of numerical model simulations can be...

Dynamically downscaled future wave projections from SWAN model results for the main Hawaiian Islands
Projected wave climate trends from WAVEWATCH3 model output were used as input for nearshore wave models (for example, SWAN) for the main Hawaiian Islands to derive data and statistical measures (mean and top 5 percent values) of wave height, wave period, and wave direction for the recent past (1996-2005) and future projections (2026-2045 and 2085-2100). Three-hourly global climate model (GCM) wind speed and wind direction output from four different GCMs provided by the Coupled Model Inter-Comparison Project, phase 5 (CMIP5), were used as boundary conditions to the physics-based WAVEWATCH3 numerical wave model for the area encompassing the main Hawaiian islands. Two climate change scenarios for each of the four GCMs...

This dataset contains the approximate location of 59 wetlands that were monitored as part of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Amphibian Research and Monitoring Initiative (ARMI). Note, these were preliminary points used for locating the wetlands in the field and they may not fall directly within a wetlands boundary. The later surveying of pond boundaries provides more accurate locations. These point locations were collected with a Garmin GPSmap62 unit. The mention of firm, product, or trade names is done so for informative purposes only and does not constitute and recommendation or endorsement by the federal government.

This data release contains geospatial data defining estimates of the depth to water and water-table altitude in the upper glacial and Magothy Aquifers, the potentiometric surface of the confined Magothy and Jameco Aquifers, and the potentiometric surface of the Lloyd and North Shore Aquifers on Long Island, New York. Estimates are based on 502 water-level measurements made in wells across Long Island during March-April 2006. Water-table contours were interpolated using measurements from 341 wells screened in the upper glacial aquifer or shallow Magothy Aquifer. Potentiometric-surface contours in the confined Magothy and hydraulically connected Jameco Aquifer were interpolated using measurements from 102 wells. Potentiometric-surface...
This digital dataset contains groundwater level observations for 364 wells, in addition to well construction information, from 1916 to 2014 in the Central Valley, California. Groundwater level observations are used to create groundwater level contours and to calibrate the groundwater levels for the updated Central Valley Hydrologic Model (CVHM2). Groundwater level observations were collected from five sources (USGS, 2018; SLDMWA, 2018; CADWR, 2004; CRNA, 2018).

Schematic atoll models with varying theoretical morphologies were used to evaluate the relative control of individual morphological parameters on alongshore transport gradients. Here we present physics-based numerical SWAN model results of incident wave transformations for a range of atoll and island morphologies and sea-level rise scenarios. Model results are presented in NetCDF format, accompanied by a README text file that lists the parameters used in each model run. These data accompany the following publication: Shope, J.B., and Storlazzi, C.D., 2019, Assessing morphologic controls on atoll island alongshore sediment transport gradients due to future sea-level rise: Frontiers in Marine Science, doi:10.3389/fmars.2019.00245.

Water level was monitored at two mangrove forest sites across Pohnpei, Federated States of Microneisa. Water levels were recorded with pressure-transducing dataloggers (Solinst) for eight months (July 2016-March 2017). Elevation surveys (differential leveling) were used to convert water levels relative to the Earth Geoid Model of 2008.

Water levels are an important driver of salt marsh processes. In 2016, pressure-transducing data loggers (LT Edge Model 3001, Solinst and Hobo Model U-20-001-01-Ti) and barometric-pressure loggers (Model 3001, Solinst) were deployed in two USGS study marshes (Mad River marsh and Hookton marsh) located in Humboldt Bay, CA. The loggers were placed as low in the tide frame as possible, while still maintaining access to the sensors at low tide. Sensors captured high tide water levels; but sensor elevation was too high to capture low tide water levels. Continuous measurements were collected on a 6-minute timestep. Sensor elevations were surveyed using Real-Time Kinematic GPS (Leica GS-15, Leica Geosystems, Norcross,...
