On September 20, 2017, Hurricane Maria hit the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico as a category 4 storm. Heavy rainfall caused landslides in mountainous regions throughout the territory. This data release presents geospatial data describing the concentration of landslides generated by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. We used post-hurricane satellite and aerial imagery collected between September 26, 2017 and October 8, 2017 to visually estimate the concentration of landslides over nearly the whole territory. Increasing temperatures, decreasing rainfall, and more intense droughts and storms are threatening the health and wellbeing of ecosystems and communities across Hawai‘i and the Pacific Islands. Future rainfall and temperature projections provide some insight into future change, but uncertainty remains in when, where, and how impacts will manifest, presenting daunting challenges to natural resource managers. The need for high-quality reliable climate data and translated products that can be used to proactively plan for changes in the region has never been greater. The National Water Quality Network (NWQN) for Rivers and Streams includes 105 surface-water river and stream sites monitored by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Water Quality Program. This data release provides streamflow, nutrient, and sediment data collected and analyzed by USGS for sites on the one Mississippi River site and one Atchafalaya River site used to represent contributions to the Gulf of America for water years 1968 through 2024. The dataset consists of geospatial files depicting the estimated June-to-November distribution of walrus foraging and occupancy during a four year period of sparse sea ice cover above the Chukchi Sea continental shelf (2008-2011). The walrus distribution and utilization estimates are based on location data from satellite-linked radio-tracked walruses in the Chukchi Sea (2008-2011). Compared to previous years this period was marked by earlier and more extensive sea ice retreat (June - September) and delayed sea ice freeze-up (October - November). Stocking, or raising fish in hatcheries and releasing them into a body of water, is routinely used to supplement or maintain fisheries when natural populations are low or nonexistent. Demand for stocking cool and coldwater fish species that support important fisheries will likely increase as a result of climate change, but fish available for stocking are a limited resource.
