The borehole database for the State of Arkansas was developed as part of the U.S. Geological Survey Data Preservation Program 2023. Information displayed in the database will be useful for making more informed decisions about economic mineral availability in known mineral-rich areas. Each borehole is given a unique identifier and added into an Excel spreadsheet. A unique identifier example: 03-141-MFDS1-63, 03 pertains to the State Code, 141 to the County Code, M is for mineral, FD is the area or deposit name, S1 is the hole designation, and 63 is the drill date or source publication date.
