From attached metadata: "Regional range allotment coverage of Region 2, Rocky Mountain Region, USDA Forest Service. The regional coverage reflects the range allotment data from each of the National Forests and Grasslands within the region. The regional allotment coverage was compiled by the Regional Office's Geospatial Services office."
This USGS Energy Resources Program website contains news, research and links related to energy in the Colorado Plateau region.

The Energy and Environment in the Rocky Mountain Area (EERMA) project is composed of interdisciplinary U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) scientists working to provide land management agencies and decision makers with synthesized information and comprehensive, virtual tools to promote understanding of the trade-offs of energy development. The purpose of the Interactive Energy Atlas is to provide data and decision support tools to visualize and assess the potential effects of energy development on terrestrial/hydrological resources at multiple scales. ScienceBase is being used to compile information and serve the data to EERMA's website, including visualization application, via services. Community Home website: http://my.usgs.gov/eerma/
This data was produced to examine the extent and location of human induced fires throughout the western United States. The National Fire Occurrence Database (1986-1996) and additional government agency fire occurrence databases were queried for human induced fires between 1986 and 2001.

The WISDOM map viewer displays GIS layers about wildlife and habitat priorities in Wyoming. There are 9 GIS layers about land use, including housing development, agriculture and energy development. WISDOM (Wyoming Interagency Spatial Database and Online Management) is one of the state CHATs (Crucial Habitat Assessment Tools) created through an initiative from the Western Governors' Association.
The attached list contains all Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) that have been registered since January 2004 in states of the Southern Rockies LCC: AZ, CO, NM, UT, WY and ID. The information is from the EPA's online EIS database. Results are organized by state, then agency and then publication date. The Info links provide access to general metadata records from the EPA web site. EIS that have strikethrough appear to be outside the SRLCC boundary.
The Wind Energy Development Programmatic EIS was prepared by the Bureau of Land Management and investigated the potential effects of wind energy development in 11 western states. The PEIS has a website for public information and involvement. This site contains maps (JPEG or PDF) showing wind power resource potential, by state and across the western U.S.
Link to Arizona's HabiMap viewer, which displays GIS layers relating to wildlife and habitat conservation. There are three layers showing grazing allotments, covering land managed by the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service and the Arizona State Land Department.
This service provides Bureau of Land Management Solar Energy Study Zones as part of the Solar Energy Development Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS). For more information: link to a description from the Bureau of Land Management.
This data set contains statewide grazing allotment boundaries, for use in planning and land management. It contains the allotment name, number and manager. There are three allotment managers included: Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service and SITLA (School and Institutional State Trust Lands Administration).
Data can be accessed through a map service (select one of the options in the grey bar above the inset map) or viewed in the BLM's GeoCommunicator interactive map.

NPScape housing density data sets for the conterminous U.S.: web links to map services and downloadable data. There are three map service data sets: housing density projections for 1970, 2010 and 2050. Downloadable geodatabase includes housing density projections for each decade from 1970-2100. Projections are based on the Spatially Explicit Growth Model (SERGom) (reference: Theobald, D. 2005. Landscape patterns of exurban growth in the USA from 1980 to 2020. Ecology and Society 10(1): 32. Humans have dramatically altered wildlands in the western United States over the past 100 years by using these lands and the resources they provide. Anthropogenic changes to the landscape, such as urban expansion, construction of roads, power lines, and other networks and land uses necessary to maintain human populations influence the number and kinds of plants and wildlife that remain. We developed the map of the human footprint for the western United States from an analysis of 14 landscape structure and anthropogenic features: human habitation, interstate highways, federal and state highways, secondary roads, railroads, irrigation canals, power lines, linear feature densities, agricultural land, campgrounds, highway...

The GAP Land Cover data set contains several categories that represent human land use: Current and Historic Mining Activity, Developed Urban, Herbaceous Agricultural Vegetation and Recently Disturbed or Modified. This layer package shows the four categories in isolation from the complete data set, and converted to a shapefile format. The symbology is based on the National Vegetation Classification (NVC) level "formation", which is the 3rd level of thematic resolution in the GAP data set. The GAP GIS layer has been clipped to the boundary of the SRLCC. There is also an Excel table showing each category's percent of the total SRLCC area. From GAP land cover metadata: "this dataset combines the work of several different...
