This ArcGIS map package contains climate data layers selected from The Nature Conservancy's Climate Wizard 1, a user-friendly viewer and data portal that provides access to Maurer et al.'s 2007 downscaled climate data and PRISM climate data. The data layers were downloaded from the custom application of the website (climatewizardcustom.org), which allows users to upload a shapefile and concentrate on an area of interest (in this case, the footprint of the SRLCC). From the California Academy of Sciences' metadata (for a precipitation projection): Using the simple anomaly method (modifying a historical baseline with differences or ratios projected by General Circulation Models), scientists from the California Academy of Sciences downscaled monthly total precipitation from 16 different global circulation models (GCMs). These data sets are subsets of the Maurer, et al. (2007) bias corrected, spatially downscaled monthly climate predictions 1 . The predictions were subsetted for the SRLCC and its ecoregions using the USGS Geo Data Portal or GDP ( http://cida.usgs.gov/climate/gdp/ ). The GDP can calculate statistics of a gridded time series based on a particular area of interest (in this case, the uploaded shapefiles of the SRLCC and its ecoregions). After the input data sets (by Maurer, et al.) were processed through the GDP, the output CSV files contain tabular data for the SRLCC and individual ecoregions. The Colorado Plateau Rapid Ecoregional Assessment (REA) website contains links to the final report. Data from the report are shared through the Colorado Plateau REA Data Portal . Data portal maps are downloadable and many can be viewed through map services and ArcGIS.com. Climate Change is one of the change agents addressed in the assessment.
