The Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center (NPWRC) conducts integrated research to fulfill the Department of the Interior’s responsibilities to the Nation’s natural resources. Located on 600 acres along the James River Valley near Jamestown, North Dakota, the NPWRC develops and disseminates scientific information needed to understand, conserve, and wisely manage the Nation’s biological resources. Research emphasis is primarily on midcontinental plant and animal species and ecosystems of the United States.

The Gap Analysis Project (GAP) is an element of the U.S. Geological Survey. GAP helps to implement the Department of the Interior’s goals of inventory, monitoring, research, and information transfer. GAP has three primary goals: Identify conservation gaps that help keep common species common; Provide conservation information to the public so that informed resource management decisions can be made; and Facilitate the application of GAP data and analysis to specific resource management activities. To implement these goals, GAP carries out the following objectives: Map the land cover of the United States Map predicted distributions of vertebrate species for the U.S. Map the location, ownership and stewardship of...
Our mission is to collect timely and reliable information on the water resources of our six-state region (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont), and to partner with Federal, State, Tribal, and local agencies in hydrologic studies that advance human health, public safety, and environmental sustainability.

This data release provides a monthly irrigation water use reanalysis for the period 2000-20 for all USGS Watershed Boundary Dataset of Subwatersheds (HUC12) in the conterminous United States (CONUS). Results include reference evapotranspiration (ETo), actual evapotranspiration (ETa), irrigated areas, consumptive use, and effective precipitation for each HUC12. ETo and ETa were estimated using the operational Simplified Surface Energy Balance (SSEBop, Senay and others, 2013; Senay and others, 2020) model executed in the OpenET (Melton and others, 2021) web-based application implemented in Google Earth Engine. Results provided by OpenET/SSEBop were summarized to hydrologic response units (HRUs) in the National Hydrologic...

This ScienceBase community is the archive of ReSciColl (Registry of Scientific Collections), formerly the National Digital Catalog, of the National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program (NGGDPP). The ReSciColl Dashboard housing ReSciColl Map, ReSciColl Inventory, and Collections Management is available at ReSciColl - Registry of Scientific Collections (usgs.gov). ReSciColl includes metadata records describing geological, geophysical and biological collections and data managed by state geological surveys and USGS. These collections include rock samples, thin sections, field notebooks, photographs, maps, datasets, and others. Collections are described using metadata elements identified by the NGGDPP...

This is the USGS California Water Science Center's Catalog and Repository space. This space primarily supports CAWSC science projects by providing a place to organize and publicly release data which cannot fit within the USGS's National Water Information System. The CAWSC mission is to collect, analyze and disseminate impartial hydrologic data and information needed to wisely manage water resources for the people of the United States and the State of California. This part of USGS Data Series 781 presents substrate, geomorphic, and geologic attributed polygons in the Offshore of Morro Bay, California, map area, one of 83 map areas of the California State Waters Map Series. MBES data used to derive this data were generated from bathymetry and backscatter data collected by Fugro Pelagos in 2008. The surveys were conducted to map surficial geology and benthic habitat as part of the USGS California Seafloor Mapping Program, a collaboration with California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB, 2016) and the National Oceanic and Atmosphereic Administration (NOAA).The batymetry and backscatter intensity data was processed by the California State University Monterey Bay Seafloor...

Welcome to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Alaska Science Center (ASC), headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska. At the ASC, all of the USGS Mission Area Programs are managed collectively with a vision to achieving an integrated landscape level understanding of the highly diverse and complex Alaskan and Arctic Ecosystems. The mission of the Alaska Science Center is to provide objective and timely data, information, and research findings about the earth and its flora and fauna to Federal, State, and local resource managers and the public to support sound decisions regarding natural resources, natural hazards, and ecosystems in Alaska and circumpolar regions.

A data and code repository for studies conducted as part of the Delaware River Basin (DRB) Integrated Water Availability Assessments program. The community serves as a site where hydrologic, physical, chemical, biological, and landscape data can be stored and used for modeling and geospatial analysis to improved understanding of water availability in the DRB.
