In response to the Nisqually earthquake of 2001, DGER was awarded a grant by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Washington Emergency Management Division to develop two types of earthquake hazard maps for every county in the state—liquefaction susceptibility maps, which outline areas where water-saturated sandy soil loses strength during earthquake shaking, and NEHRP (National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program) site class maps, which outline areas where soils amplify ground shaking. The maps will be used by state and local governments to update existing hazard mitigation plans and to delineate geologically hazardous areas under the Growth Management Act. In response to the Nisqually earthquake of...
This layer contains data describing thermal springs in Montana, obtained by the AASG for the Geothermal Data Project. The data table includes general information on the location of the spring, location uncertainty and remarks. Citations are included in the dataset. The ThermalSpringURI for a particular feature is the cross-referencing link (foreign key) used to associate the spring with any other web based information. The data is displayed using a temperature gradient color scheme ramping from green (cool) to red (hot). Layer files containing the symbology for these d This layer contains data describing thermal springs in Montana, obtained by the AASG for the Geothermal Data Project. The data table includes...

This dataset is field boundary polygons of Coalbed Methane (CBM) based on producing wells in the USA. Field outline polygons were created by buffering wells from each field. Buffered well polygons from each field were then unioned into a single polygon record (may contain multiple rings). A smoothing algorithm was applied to the polygons. Features are colored by Basin. Fields are coded with Geologic Ages, Formations, and Coal Names. Age Codes are Exxon Mobil Age Codes. This CBM field outline polygon layer was c This dataset is field boundary polygons of Coalbed Methane (CBM) based on producing wells in the USA. This multi-scale geologic map service is a partial representation of the digital data for the Geologic Map of North America. Geologic units and faults, clipped to the terrestrial extent of North America, are represented here. The major divisions of geologic time (stratigraphic age) are represented with the RGB equivalent of the CMYK color specifications presented in the FGDC Digital Cartographic Standard for Geologic Map Symbolization. Faults are represented with a solid (fault location accurate), dashed (fault location approximate) or dotted (concealed fault) line.
