This data set contains information on well yield and ancillary information at 7,287 wells in the bedrock aquifer in the Nashoba terrane in central and eastern Massachusetts. Well yield was compiled from records in databases and files of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and U.S. Geological Survey. Ancillary data include well depth; bedrock geology, surficial geology, topographic setting, and wetlands at the well location; distance of the well to hydrologic and geologic features; and distance of the well to lineaments. The data in this data release were interpreted in U.S. Geological Survey Scientific-Investigations Report 2012-5155.

This data set is a point data layer representing well yield at 7,287 bedrock wells in the Nashoba Terrane in central and eastern Massachusetts. The data were compiled from databases of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and U.S. Geological Survey. The data are described and interpreted in U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2012-5155 by DeSimone and Barbaro (2012).
Lineaments from three data sources were identified in the Ayer, Hudson, Marlborough, and Westford 7.5 x7.5 minute quadrangles in eastern Massachusetts. The imagery sources were high-altitude (1:80,000) black and white aerial photographs (80K), color-infrared (1:58,000) aerial photographs (CIR), and shaded Digital Elevation Model data (Shaded DEMs). One data layer from each source contains all lineaments identified by either of two independent observers (All) and another data layer contains only lineaments identified independently by both of the two observers (Coincident).
Estimated yield of bedrock wells in grid cells of 200x200 meters was determined by ordinary kriging of well yield data from 7,287 wells in the Nashoba Terrane and surrounding area, central and eastern Massachusetts, as described in U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2012-5155 by DeSimone and Barbaro (2012). Two data layers are provided, estimated well yield and standard error of the estimated well yield. The values in this data set are depicted in figure 32 of DeSimone and Barbaro (2012).
