Mean annual streamflow was determined for each year of the streamgage record using the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) DFLOW computer program (Rossman, 1990). A shapefile specifying streamgage locations was loaded into the program and divided into four quadrants to facilitate more efficient program operation. For each quadrant, appropriate streamgages were selected by the program based on period of record and regulation status. Daily discharge information for each streamgage was downloaded from the National Water Information System (NWIS).
