The Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020 Data Download is a .zip file containing spatial data and documentation associated with Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020.
This is the exact layer used as an input to Southeast Blueprint 2020 for the Middle Southeast geography. It was derived from Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020. Please note: Southeast Blueprint 2021 used the full Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020 layer instead of this one to correct an error with the spatial rebalance described in the known issue below. Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020 extends into parts of IL, KS, TX, and OK. As a result, the entirety of Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020 was not used in Southeast Blueprint 2020. IL and KS are outside the SECAS geography, and only WAFWA CHAT data was used in TX and OK according to the integration rules described in the Southeast Blueprint 2020 documentation. To ensure...

Planning units used as zones for calculating terrestrial Conservation Value Index and summarizing areas in Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020. Terrestrial planning unit boundaries were delineated by selecting 1 or more Omernick (EPA) Level 3 Ecoregions.
Intersection of aquatic planning units used for Aquatic CVI summaries and the terrestrial planning units used for Terrestrial CVI summaries, converted to a 30 m raster.

Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020 was released in October 2020. This framework is a major departure from the original Gulf Coastal Plains and Ozarks (GCPO) Blueprint and needs to be vetted through workshops and partner review. Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020 is the combined Conservation Value Index from the Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020 folder. The final Conservation Value Index is based on aquatic and terrestrial indices: the distribution of species groups, habitat condition relative to desired condition, conservation hubs based on partner priority areas, protected areas serving as conservation network anchors (terrestrial systems only), and risk of future change. This final Conservation Value Index layer used...

Planning units used as zones for calculating aquatic Conservation Value Index and summarizing areas in Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020. Aquatic planning unit boundaries were delineated by selecting 1 or more HUC 4 basins.
The aquatic Conservation Value Index is one of the core components of Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020. It is based on the following 4 aquatic indices: The Species Index for aquatic ecosystems The Habitat Condition Index for aquatic ecosystems Conservation Hubs (partner focus areas) The Risk Index The underlying indices are not currently available online. More information about how each index is developed is available in the Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020 Development Process. Combining the aquatic inputs into an aquatic Conservation Value Index The 4 inputs are combined as “barcodes” (e.g. 2421) in order of Species Index, Habitat Index, Hub, then Risk Index. The aquatic barcode is contained in the “A_Barcode”...
The Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020 Development Process is a final report that explains how the Middle Southeast Blueprint was created.

The terrestrial Conservation Value Index is one of the core components of Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020. It is based on the following 5 terrestrial indices: The Species Index for terrestrial ecosystems Terrestrial Habitat Condition Index Conservation Hubs (partner focus areas) Conservation Network Anchors (protected lands) The Risk Index The underlying indices are not currently available online. More information about how each index is developed is available in the Middle Southeast Blueprint 2020 Development Process. Combining the terrestrial inputs into a terrestrial Conservation Value Index The 5 inputs are combined as “barcodes” (e.g. 12241) in order of Species Index, Habitat Index, Hub, Anchor, then Risk...
