Compiled at the scale of 1:500,000, the map is available for print, can be downloaded as a digital database, or can be viewed through the agency’s Interactive Oil and Gas Map of Wyoming. The Wyoming State Geological Survey (WSGS) publishes geologic maps used in mineral exploration, energy resource development, mitigating geologic hazards, and understanding of local geology. The WSGS distributes these maps on its website as Portable Document Files (PDF), Georeferenced Tagged Image File Format Files (GeoTIFF), Keyhole Markup Language Files (KML), Geographic Information System (GIS) shapefiles, and as printed paper copies.
