The Ecological Connectivity Project brings together managers and decision makers to address challenges impacting ecological connectivity throughout the geography of the Great Northern Landscape Conservation Cooperative. We encourage those involved with connectivity efforts at any scale to get involved with this project as its success depends on stakeholder engagement from all corners of the Great Northern LCC geography. Please contact us if you have questions or would like to become involved.

This GIS dataset is part of a suite of wildlife habitat connectivity data produced by the Washington Wildlife Habitat Connectivity Working Group (WHCWG). The WHCWG is a voluntary public-private partnership between state and federal agencies, universities, tribes, and non-governmental organizations. The WHCWG is co-led by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) and the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT). The assessment of connectivity for the Okanagan-Kettle subregion is led by the Transboundary Connectivity Working Group (TCWG), which includes the WHCWG as well as members from agencies, organizations as well as independent biologists from both sides of the border. A final report concerning...

This version of the Simple Viewer displayed the South Atlantic Conservation Blueprint 2.1 at the subwatershed and marine lease block scale. In this interface you could also find information about other landscape scale conservation plans, land cover, and protection status.
This project utilizes projected visualization of land cover conditions for the state of Florida at three future time periods. Simulated projected future conditions also vary by patterns in development, levels and types of conservation, and sea level rise. These visualized scenarios afford the opportunity to examine a range of possible outcomes for land use and land cover, and use these scenarios to evaluate the impacts on potential habitat distributions for focal species. For this project, focal species were centered within the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge and impacts. The methodology for this project includes four major steps, which have been found to be effective in previous scenario analyses with...

The South Atlantic CPA is a free mapping portal designed to share regional spatial data. You can overlay multiple layers, create and export maps, and download data. In addition to the Conservation Blueprint, you’ll find information about connectivity, protected lands, urban growth, and much more.
The rivers and streams of the Southeastern United States are extremely diverse, containing numerous threatened and endangered species. In fact, southeastern rivers contain more at-risk freshwater fish and invertebrates than any other region of the country. The anthropogenic fragmentation of river habitats through dams and poorly designed culverts is one of the primary threats to aquatic species in the United States. The impact of fragmentation on aquatic species generally involves loss of access to quality habitat for one or more life stages of a species. For example, dams and impassable culverts limit the ability of anadromous fish species to reach preferred spawning habitats and prevent brook trout populations...
This website provides information on the project’s effort to establish a network of environmental monitoring stations within the boundaries of the California LCC. Users of this web portal can view predicted distributional changes in landbird, habitat, and climate under future climate conditions and find out general information on the progress and evolution of the network.
California’s terrestrial ecosystems are particularly vulnerable to future changes in the global climate, including increased temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, and changes in human infrastructure and development. Information on the potential effects of climate change on bird communities can help guide effective conservation and inform land management decisions. We are using climate models and multi-source bird data, networked for the first time thanks to the Avian Knowledge Network, to predict current and future species distributions for California terrestrial breeding bird species. Currently, we have nearly 200 species available for viewing. These species represent 7 major habitat types found within...

Project funding included data production for Montana and Idaho to help support the NWI Wetlands Mapper website and the resulting data is accessible through this web tool. GNLCC project funds did not directly go toward website development.

The Heart of the Rockies Conservation Atlas is delivering the latest science in climate change adaptation and habitat connectivity to our land trust partners to help identify and validate selection of future conservation targets. Our Science Coordinator is curating a collection of connectivity and climate data at a scale that is useful to on-the-ground practitioners. He is working with university and agency partners to identify, screen, and procure the data. This Atlas has a collection of spatial data specific to the conservation planning needs of our land trust partners. It is grouped into themed galleries: Connectivity, Habitat, Climate Change, Working Lands, and Planning. Thousands of additional datasets are...

The North American Bat Monitoring Program (NABat) is a large-scale, long-term monitoring program designed to assess the status and trends of North American bats at local, regional, and range-wide scales. Spanning the United States, Canada, and Mexico, NABat brings together an extensive network of partners who utilize the NABat program design and monitoring protocols to collect bat population data. These data are analyzed at various spatial and temporal scales and results are used to promote effective conservation actions to ensure the long-term viability of bat populations across the continent.
